  1. It's like you guys have given up!

America, beer, hot dogs, Cracker Jack, baseball!

    1. Newbish's birthday party was baseball themed, so we have a number of boxes of cracker jacks left over. Good lord, those things are good.

    1. WHAT?

I get to watch for you, I guess. Twins had a spectacular double play started by a diving stop by Dozier in the first.

  2. As this is 'Murica's day, I made a traditional food to share (gonna hang with The Roommate and family): tzatziki, to go with pita, feta, and Kalamata olives.

The Mrs also made me buy a kale salad. Because? I blame it on The Roommate living in Berkeley. Like Brooklyn but with more homeless people.

  3. Nolasco has allowed a runner in each inning through four, but none past first, thanks in large part to a pair of double plays. Twins still looking for some offense.

  4. Mauer with a hit!

    Walk to Sano. Rally!

And Dozier Uno's into a fielder's choice. Beat it out by a half step. Vargas up.

  5. Kepler almost picked off. Does not matter, as Rosario grounds weakly to 1st.

  6. Top of six already. Nolasco seems to be cruising, and Graveman isn't far behind. Or these offenses suck.

  7. There's a Goose Island Pub at Target Field? For shame. I mean, good beer (even after the sell-out to AB InBev ), but what the what? SHE-CAGO beer?

    1. That one bugs me everyone I see it. You'd think it'd be a summit or premo pub.

  8. Joe with a rope to left-center for a stand-up double. Nice stroke. Can we please have a hot July?

  9. Oh, man. Valencia tries to take third on a grounder to short. Sano blocked him on the slide, but he looks safe. Bad throw. Review.

  10. I assume most teams have a poor record when they score three or fewer runs. The Twins are still probably an extreme example, though.

    1. Yes, the stupid part of that stat that was given is that the Twins had already allowed 3 runs, so they would have to score more than 3 runs to win the game, which means they were either going to make the stat worse or be eliminated from it.

  11. Two out rally? 1st and 2nd after a walk and a sharp single to right. Pitching change for Oakland.

  12. I sure wish we had a better batter than Santana to use here. Suzuki's available, I guess, but if he's better it's a pretty marginal gain.

    1. Yes, especially with Santana vs. righty. He's been pretty good batting left-handed this year. I was glad they used Grossman for Centeno, but of course that meant Grossman would not be available to hit for Santana. I would prefer Escobar, but he's "day-to-day" until the tear is discovered and he has season-ending surgery.
