    2. Simultaneously onomatopœia and an acronym for "New No New Age Advanced Ambient Motor Music Machine"
    6. Performed by Pat Metheny, later sampled by the Orb for "Little Fluffy Clouds"
    9. Basically, a remix of Judie Tzukie's "Stay With Me Till Dawn". It's pretty awesome:

I skipped writing down a lot of bird songs today.

  2. No list today, but I did pick up new albums (actual CD's) last week:
The Claypool Lennon Delirium - Monolith of Phobos. This one isn't perfect for SSS (15 minute commutes don't really do it justice). I've found the best consumption was hanging out with my buddy in his garage, drinking beer and relaxing. My favorite song so far is “Cricket and the Genie” - described well by this KEXP review of the album:

Lennon’s “Cricket and the Genie” tale of sociopathy and prescription drugs sounds like a Tame Impala re-interpretation of a White Album persona like “Bungalow Bill”.
    ...
But when the go full throttle in tandem, that’s where you get the best material on the record. “Cricket and the Genie” and “Breath of a Salesman” are the best romps on the record, both throbbing through heavy groove territory with a smoky rearview mirror and a hazy horizon.

Actual song starts at the 1:20 mark:

Tame Impala - Currents. Though I'd heard the album quite a few times, I had not yet purchased it. Something very GOML about needing to actually own the disc, but I can't shake it. Downloading digital copies or streaming via Spotify/Pandora/Youtube just doesn't jibe with me.

    Notes:
    2. Wilco coming August20th. I haven't heard new album yet, surprised its not on NPR New Music yet.
    8. I go back and forth whether HotH or Physical Graffiti is my fave Zeppelin Album
    9. I'll be at Dr. Dog tomorrow too. They put on a great show. Disappointed about the weather forecast, it may get wet. Hope to see you Mags.

    1. Speaking of Wilco on the 20th, I have a ticket I can't use because I will be out of town if any citizens are interested.

    2. More Wilco...I got a special pressing of AM on vinyl this week. I hadn't spent much time with this particular Wilco album prior but I really like it. Only about two decades behind I guess.

      1. Ranking Wilco albums is hard for me, as it changes with my mood. But in the right mood, A.M. might be my favorite.

        1. I've said it before but asking me my favorite Wilco album is like partner asking if I want to have sex on bed, couch, floor, table, back seat of car. My answer: Sure, why not all?

        2. I've always been really partial to their collaboration albums with Billy Bragg.

Other than that, I like free's take.

  4. I never noticed this before but Zamboni is an unlisted track on my version of Billy's Live Bait. It's tacked on to the end of One Voice.

I bet that was frustrating for causal fans who wanted to buy the album with Zamboni on it.
