  1. Following up on last week's post.
Ten-year-old last night: "I think I trust Hillary Clinton more than Donald Trump. It's like she's speaking directly into my heart."

    1. I have no comparison with my kids this time, but I am finding enjoyment in this description.

      1. First time I've heard him phrase it that way, but most things from him are going straight to or from the heart..."settle down, kid. I just want you to clean up your room..."

    2. Sorry to ask this, but can we table the FZ discussion a little more than we have been lately? I'm not bothered or offended or anything, and I'm sure many of us agree on the same things, but it's just I need my sanctuary oh please please I need my sanctuary make it stop please three more months of this oh man I don't think I'm going to make it...

      1. My apologies. I hear you on sanctuary. I was trying to keep it to statements of non-opinion and unslanted observations, and interest in how the process was seen through young eyes.

        Amen, brother.

  2. Kintzler might be next.

    1. Basically, any time a non-contending club can sell high on a reliever, it probably should.

      1. Yep, especially one that comes with the caveat as "not a big strikeout guy" since effectiveness can be fleeting.

        1. And even more so when the guy was a minor league free agent signing at the beginning of the season. Anything above replacement level in return would be a win.

  3. Going to Tahoe this weekend to spend time with the Mrs and close friends. I am really, really, really looking forward to not working this weekend.

    1. Me too, doc. We're back from the nor shore, and I'm looking forward to not receiving texts from the boss.

  4. Trying to stay out of Facebook politics. A friend posted a false meme. I posted a link to Snopes without further comment. He replied, "It still sounds true."

    Ok.

    1. Been there. You prove the "facts" they used to prove their point are false, and they say, "Well, it doesn't matter, I'm still right." At that point, all you can do is shake your head. Or bang it on your desk.

      1. That's why I've very liberally (no pun intended) made use of the ignore feature. It takes no time at all for me to read my updated feed!

  5. I'm looking for that link with the crazy comment thread that made everyone laugh so hard... from like an Australian radio station or something? Not finding it... Any help?

    1. I found the deadspin post, but from following the link it looks like the actual thread has been killed.
