    1. This feels like a good opportunity to say how great it would be if the college part and the sports part were completely separated.

  1. Cleveland has acquired Matt Lucroy and Andrew Miller. I love the aggression by their front office. I wonder if Detroit will respond by making moves.

        1. Maybe the Brewers tried to pull a fast one and told him he was going to anywhere but Cleveland.

          1. He wanted a waiver for the team option in his contract for 2017. The Indians said no way Jose. Someone call trader (or is it traitor...) Antony up and get Kurt on a bus to Cleveland.

            1. It would be interesting to see the most listed team in linited no-trade clauses. I bet the Twins are at the top.

      1. I would bet they are still working on getting the trade complete. Meanwhile, Lucroy won't be able to play until this is completely dead. I'm sure that would create some nice tension in the Brewers dugout.

    1. Just realized I called him Matt Lucroy.
I'm suspended without pay for a week.
      jeesh

    1. Probably trying to decide which starter needs to be taken out of the rotation the most.

      1. And now the Twins have confirmed that Berrios will start Monday, replacing Duff Man.

        1. Yeah, Duffey to the bullpen. No announcement of who Berrios replaces on the roster. Wouldn't be surprised if Buxton goes to the DL and they go back to an 8-man bullpen.

    1. Woohoo for picking Strasbourg instead of Kershaw for Cy Young! Oops, for naming the older Seager for ROY!

  2. I can't decide. Is it a good thing that the Twins honored cops for making DWI busts, or a bad thing that they were still so goddamn many?

In 2015, the all-stars made 2,165 combined DWI arrests across Minnesota, protecting countless innocent lives from being changed forever. An average day in 2015 consisted of 69 DWI arrests in Minnesota, a crime that is completely preventable. The ninth Minnesota DWI All-Star Team has been selected for their tireless effort in the enforcement and prosecution of drunk driving.

“One in seven Minnesotans has a DWI on their record and that’s simply unacceptable,” said Donna Berger, Office of Traffic Safety director, in a press release. “While DWI arrests have continued to decline over the years, we still have a long way to go. We are grateful to the all-stars and all of law enforcement for taking impaired drivers off the road, and for those who are committed to finding a sober ride.”

      1. That's actually fairly impressive when you take into account the lowering of BAC limits.

  3. On the Grill
Fresh filleted mackerel from a local Carnac fishmonger, wrapped in tin foil and topped with slices of lemon, cooked over briquets with pieces of apple wood. Couscous w/ golden raisins. Lettuce w/ cherry tomatoes, cider vinegar and olive oil, and trail mix nuts.

    1. num.

I took the Boy out for sushi a couple of weeks ago to a local bait shop. Excellent stuff, but they did not have any mackerel, which disappointed me. Chatted with the proprietor after. Thanked her for the outstanding salmon skin handroll and uni nigiri. Asked about the mackerel. She said that in our market*, she couldn't justify mackerel. She would have to buy a case of it, and mackerel has to be cured and marinated before serving as sushi/sashimi. She couldn't sell enough of it before it went bad.

*I live in a relatively small, agricultural town outside of Sactown. The clientele tends to have, uh, pedestrian palates.
