I'm choosing an 18 minute song that takes about 4 minutes to get going at all, all of which ensures that pretty much no one is going to watch or rate this.

The reason why I did this is two-fold.

a) White Lung (who made some pretty awesome music this year) doesn't translate that well to live video recording (the vocalist sounds kind of flat, and a lot of the crazy guitar riffs that I loved so much are barely audible in any of the live versions I've found.

b) this song is probably one of my top five favorites of the year. I've probably spent more time listening to this song (when you factor in how long it is) than any other song in 2016. The shimmering guitars that start around five minutes in are good, but then the synthesized horns come in, and everything is awesome.

  2. Man, that's some heavy homage to Vangelis' soundtrack for Blade Runner between about 4:30 and 7;10.
