Cup of Coffee, April 8, 2017: This Would Be Perfection

The Twins have scored the most runs. They have given up the fewest. They have made no errors. They have the most total zone fielding runs. By a lot. You're looking at one of the best baseball teams in history right now.

      1. Funny thing with normal distributions (even truncated normal). They have support far away from the mean!

  1. The MLB record for the best start of a season is 13-0. I will be at Target Field for game 14 on April 18th. I suggest you get your tickets now!

  2. Buxton dropped to seventh in today's lineup
I understand that, but I don't agree with it. If you thought on Monday that there were good reasons to bat Buxton third, four games should not be enough to change your mind. And if you didn't think on Monday that there were good reasons to bat Buxton third, then of course you shouldn't have done it in the first place.

      1. More than four. πŸ™‚

As I said, I understand it and I'm not outraged by it. I wouldn't have batted him third in the first place. I just think that, having decided to do it, they needed to give it a longer chance to see if it would work.

  3. Saw Dr. Fear on Thursday. Have had a 2-week limp from Xctry-skiing wipeout, which has gotten much better in the last two days.

Fear pronounces 'strained medial collateral ligament', and gives me a referral for PT, which I did yesterday afternoon. After some Q&A and poking around, Select Therapy's Amy leans into it and starts deep tissue work on said ligament. Holy crap! But seems to be much better today already.

    1. I should see Dr. Fear. Was just diagnosed with peroneal tendonitis or tendonosis in my ankle. Getting an MRI next weekend. w00t. Hurts like a sumbitch.

      1. Complained to my hip Dr. about pain that I've had for a few weeks now in front of my "first" hip, and after a little checking declared it to be hip flexor tendinitis. Prescribed an topical anti-inflammatory, and I noticed a difference by the second day

  4. Philadelphia scored twelve runs in the first inning tonight against Washington. Nationals starter Jeremy Guthrie gave up ten of them on six hits and four walks in two-thirds of an inning. His ERA is currently 135.00.

  5. So, the Girl made pizza for the first time ever. I silently watched as she put about a pound of fresh mozzarella and a zillion tomatoes on a medium pie for Margharita. Not surprisingly, it made a ginormous mess. Lesson learned about proportionality. I just hope my pizza stone will survive the ordeal.

    1. the stuff I scraped off the stone was pretty tasty, however.

I spent 10 minutes this morning scrubbing the stone with a scotchbrite. Now running the cleaning cycle on the oven, with the stone in it. Hoping it does not break (I think I let it air-dry long enough).
