  1. Grossman HR brought to you by Dozier. Ton of throws over after his earlier SB, and clearly Zimmerman was paying too much attention to the runner. Who, by the way, was running on the blast.

  2. Also, this is worth putting out there: I thought Buxton's AB was pretty good. He took some close pitches, and seemed to be trusting his eye a little more.

    I hope.

      1. We've seen him have sustained success before, so I feel ok with the hope. (I've also been a Wolves fan for a really long time, so take that as you will...)

        1. He can't possibly be as bad as he's looked so far this season, so I think some hope is justified.

  3. Scoring a bunch of runs on the Tigers is so much more fun than the other way around.

  4. Someone send the "stop it, your killing him" Simpsons gif to Brad Ausmus so he can get Sanchez out of there.

  5. Is FSN carrying the game? Can anybody tell me how many times Dick has mentioned the bunt as the key to the inning?

      1. *imagining Dick sitting home in his bathrobe, knocking the precariously balanced bag of Best Value corn chips off the arm of his recliner, as he excited sits up and shouts across the empty basement at his Bichon "THAT! Is how you do it."*

    1. Molitor is in line with your thinking here.

I actually really like having an actual true long relief inning sponge. Haley has seemed fine at it so far.

        1. It's silly that Haley threw as many innings yesterday as Belisle has all season... and more than Rogers and Pressly have thrown, yet we need all those "higher leverage" relievers just in case.

    1. So you're saying Tonkin only pitches in games when Buxton doesn't K? These are the kinds of trends that the FO needs to track.

The Twins also have not lost a day game, a home game, extra-inning game, or a game on turf.

  6. I'm real excited about Sano. He has a 1.253 OPS after today. Not only that, but all his underlying rate states are better than they were when he was a rookie, including his K rate, his BB rate, and his GB/FB ratio. Coming into today, his BABIP was basically the same as his rookie season.
