  1. Not "...el Cinco de Mayo?" But yes, let us all remember the Battle of Puebla! Filthy French...
Time do dig out my Beergarita recipe...
Hey, are any Citizens any good at homemade margaritas? I find a good margarita is among the finer of life's simple pleasures. Being able to whip up a good one at home is on my grown-up to-do list.

    1. 12 ounces beer
      12 ounces decent tequila
12 ounces frozen lime juice concentrate (whole paycheck brand is fancy and organic ... ... ... ... )
12 ounces lemon lime soda (or lemon / lime soda water to reduce sugar content)

Stir together with ice, serve with salted rim glasses.

      1. That's along the lines of the ones I've made and enjoyed. Is this a socially acceptable substitute for classic margaritas?

        1. There's an "Everybody Loves Raymond" in which the father discovers that people put salsa on eggs and feels as though he's been betrayed/missing out his whole life.

        2. Yeah, it's a relatively recent thing for me.

In the past year, I've probably eaten... well, a lot. More than weekly.

    2. This may be a not popular thing to admit, but I really love Cayman Jack margaritas. Well, they are a beergarita because its a malt margarita, but still tasty and way better than anything Bud Lite-A-Rita has put out.

      1. dw - I've actually been meaning to try those. I will now be actively seeking one out.

        1. What I like about them (along with the taste) is that they are not overly sweet and there is no lingering aftertaste.

Cayman Jack also make a mojito, but I have not tried that.

  2. My first apartment after college was at 2617 Wisconsin, next door to this house. My roommate and I would always try to engage the people coming and going in small talk (they were always coming and going in eight hour shifts), but never had any success. Knowing who they were, and being smartass 22-year-olds in 2004, we decided to name our wireless password "udaywasframed"

    1. I just watched the first one this afternoon. Granted, it's only the first episode, but I'd say it didn't really click with me.

I was also not a big fan of the Archer:Vice season, so I didn't have super high hopes for this next high concept season. I can certainly understand the desire on the part of the writers/creators/etc. to want to try something so different, but I think I'd rather just see the characters in their normal environment, rather than putting them somewhere completely different like this.

With the caveat that it's only one episode in, I'm also not a fan in general of the idea of

      Actual Spoiler SelectShow

(Not sure if that spoiler is actually needed, since this happens in the first scene of the first episode, but figured I'd play it safe.)

Making Brewers Best Cider House Select - hard, sparkling cider.

    1. bottling day always ends up with a drunk meat cleaning the floor inadequately. Good luck to you, NBB.

      1. Twins will be calling up a starter and dropping a reliever once it's needed, I think on the 13th. Molitor said it will either be Mejia or Berrios. Seems ridiculous to consider Mejia so soon while Berrios has been dominating.

        1. Current evidence indicates it will not be Berrios. I would like to be proven wrong but will remain skeptical until new information presents itself.

    1. Isn't he going to want a day off at some point anyway? A 1-game suspension doesn't seem like a very big deal.

      1. I recall a player can voluntarily drop their appeal to begin serving their suspension immediately. Frequently done with starters if their five-day suspension can cover an off day.

  5. Started gardening a couple weekends ago. Ground was too hard to work well, despite an earlier tilling (too early, apparently). Really broke it in well tonight. Even with a heavy duty tiller ground breaking is a ton of work. Much appreciation for the pre-machinery farmer. The post one too, but that's a different thing.

  6. AMR, I'm not sure if you could see me rolling my eyes behind my sunglasses. I had my coat draped over my arm and quickly realized the pocket I needed to get to was positioned entirely wrong for quick access. Curse this warm weather!

I was remiss in not being better prepared for that chance encounter.
