Game 28: red sox @ twins

Well, wasn't that something? I turned off the game in the 7th, because my wife wanted to watch a movie (The new Bourne movie, or, as I like to call it, Very Serious People Walking Quickly), so.... yeah.

I won't be missing today's game, though, because I'm stuck at work on this beautiful day, and I brought my walkman. So I imagine I'll get to finally hear a little bit about this kerfuffle between Boston and Baltimore that no one seems to want to have an opinion about.

Also, I get to listen to a Tepesch start....whatever that is. Hopefully, Molitor isn't forced to use 12 relievers today (he totally could if he wanted to, though, I'm pretty sure we have at least that many on the roster).

Go Twins!

    1. Yeah, but how much better would it have been to start the third inning with walk, double, single, double other than it would have been 1 less out for the bullpen to get. I mean, there's no guarantee that the following at-bats would have happened the same, but I hate when a big inning is pinned on one error even if it did happen with 2 outs.

      1. I agree. I've said before it's hard on a pitcher when he has to get four outs instead of three, and it is, but it's not an excuse for allowing the next six batters to reach base.

      1. And also since it appears that the Twins would use almost anyone, including some random guy off the street, rather than bring up Jose Berrios.

  1. Just before the Chris Young at bat, a group of dbags (non-Red Sox fans, by the way) made me move because I was in their seat (despite the many, many empty seats directly next to us. All but two of the dbags have since wandered off.

    1. Ryan Pressly threw nineteen pitches! Better not let him get to twenty!

  2. Are the Red Sox going to retaliate against Sano for making an aggressive-ish tag at third base?

  3. There is zero reason for a position player to pitch in a game where the other team has only scored 11. That is bad bullpen management.

          1. You have your facts, I have mine! (Plus, he also had to throw the ball about sixty feet during the rundown.)

  4. Now Gimenez can go talk to a pitcher who is struggling to throw strikes and tell him to just throw it over the plate. "Even I can get this guy out."

    1. Good. I was a little worried they would send out Rucinzki after what turned out to be a decent first outing for him. Didn't start well but he ate up more than 3 innings. He won't be a available for a few days, so I wondered if he would be sent back down like Boshers was the other day.
