Minor Details: Games of May 11

A comeback win for the Red Wings.  A big inning sinks the Lookouts.  A smaller "big inning" sinks the Miracle.  The Kernels get ten-runned.

ROCHESTER 3, PAWTUCKET 2 IN PAWTUCKET

A Matt Dominguez ground-rule double put the Red Sox ahead 2-1 in the seventh.  It stayed there until the ninth.  With men on first and third with two out, Bengie Gonzalez and Zack Granite delivered RBI singles to give the Red Wings a 3-2 lead.  Pawtucket went down in order in the bottom of the ninth.

Adalberto Mejia pitched 6.2 innings, giving up two runs on seven hits and no walks with four strikeouts.  Alan Busenitz struck out three in a scoreless inning to drop his ERA to 2.92.  Drew Rucinski retired all four batters he faced.  Granite and Gonzalez were each 2-for-4.

MONTGOMERY 7, CHATTANOOGA 1 IN MONTGOMERY

The Biscuits got all seven of their runs in the second inning.  They had two out and a man on second when the next seven batters reached base, two on walks, four on singles, and one on a double.  The lone Lookout run scored on a ground out in the fifth inning.  Chattanooga had only three hits.

Matt Tracy made it through three innings, using ninety-three pitches to do it.  He gave up seven runs on nine hits and three walks with four strikeouts.  Randy Rosario struck out four in three shutout innings to lower his ERA to 2.60.  Nick Burdi retired all six batters he faced, three by strikeout, to make his ERA 0.66.  He has 18 strikeouts and 4 walks in 13.2 innings.  Nick Gordon was 0-for-4 and is batting .320.  LaMonte Wade was 0-for-3 with a walk and is batting .316.

CHARLOTTE 3, FORT MYERS 2 IN CHARLOTTE

The Stone Crabs scored all three of their runs in the first inning and made it stand up.  Brian Navarreto's RBI double in the second made the score 3-2, but neither team would dent the plate again.  The Miracle did not get a man past first base after the second inning.  They had nine hits, but the other eight were all singles.

Lachlan Wells did well after the first, but his line is six innings, three runs, eight hits, and no walks with two strikeouts.  Brady Anderson struck out two in two shutout innings of relief.  Navarreto was 2-for-3.  Bradley Strong was 2-for-4 and is batting .364 (4-for-11).  Chris Paul was 1-for-4 and is batting .306.

BOWLING GREEN 10, CEDAR RAPIDS 0 IN BOWLING GREEN

It was scoreless through three, but the Hot Rods got two in the fourth, two more in the fifth, one in the sixth, and capped it off with five in the seventh.  The Kernels had just four hits.
