Game 68 — Pale Hose v. Twins

We all saw it coming didn't we? Twins playing above their heads and the Clevelanders scuffling. Regression to the mean was inevitable, especially given the pitching staff the Twins had planned.

But nothing fixes what ails you than a 3 game stint against the lowly White Sox. Let's hope the Twins keep Hawk quiet for innings at a time as Santana gets back on track. Beautiful night for a 7:10p game.

    1. Finally got it in Mauer RBI single. By this point, all prizes collected.

  1. It's not too often a pitcher gives up 4 runs in an inning and then returns to the mound next inning with a bigger lead than he started the previous inning.

  2. Santana finishes with 6 Ks in 5 IP. He's had only 2 starts with more Ks (8 is a season high) and this is only the second time this season he's had more Ks than IP. Of course, he faced a ton of batters tonight because of all the base runners.

  3. Dick suggests that the Twins are considering sending Buxton to minors just before he hits an RBI single.

    1. I hope Dick was talking through his hat. That would be a very upsetting thing for the Twins to do.

  4. Jersey/shirsey count:

    Sano 10
    Mauer 24
    Buxton 3
    O-Dog (!)
    Dozier 4
    Hunter 2
    Killebrew 4
    Carew 4
    Punto
    Rosario
    Morneau 3
    JI JIM
    Kepler 2
    Abreu
    Span
    Johan
    Ervin
    Perkins
    Cuddyer
    Molitor
    Gladden

  5. Swarzak's in. Odds are pretty good Dick Bremer vocally subtweets Kevin Slowey.

  6. So hit it to Garcia seems to be working pretty good for The Twins. Sank could've scored on that "throw,"

  7. Trivia question for the night: Who on the Twins (among position players) is second to Sano in OPS.

    'Spoiler' SelectShow

He's the only other player currently with an OPS greater than .800.
