  3. I'm digging further into Aboriginal County and it's descendants (stuff that might be called "Americana" but for, y'know, not being American).
    Towards that end, the Vic Simms album The Loner from 1973 is pretty phenomenal, though is it even "country"? It seems more some combo of pre-hippies 1960's rock with a dash of James Brown funk:

    A couple years ago, the Painted Ladies (a band created for the project) covered half of the songs for Painted Ladies Play Selections from 'The Loner'. It would fit superbly on Bloodshot:
