  1. Positive: Berríos in a Twins batting helmet.
Negative: More Jack in the box.

      1. Just don't check FanGraphs. I checked BR first, couldn't remember if they had it right, and so opted for MLB's site to triple check.

        1. By that logic, the Twins shouldn't have released Steve Carlton. Career ERA+ of 115! That was waaay better than Viola's career ERA+ then, but not as good as Blyleven's.

  2. A lot of pitches for Berrios. Plus Utley struck out on 2-2 count without ever swinging the bat. Sounds like Berrios needs to go for the corner on 0-2 or try to backdoor them. They're expecting him to try to get them to chase and they're trying to rack up his pitch count and get him out early and go after the Twins' bullpen.

  3. I guess we don't have to worry about Berrios' pitch count anymore. This Dodgers lineup is brutal. The Twins player with the best OPS in the lineup tonight is Rosario at .817 coming into the game. The Dodgers have like 5 guys better than that and 2 more that are just barely lower. If the Twins don't make it (I know, that's a big if), I really want to see Dodgers-Astros. That would be a true collision of heavyweights.

  4. Twins have had 4 lineouts to the outfield in 5 innings, including Rosario with the tying run in scoring position and 2 outs. He chased a pitch early in the at-bat but battled back to put a real good swing on the ball in a clutch situation, which he has not done much this year.

  5. Just give us the DH in both leagues. The fact that this kind of situation can happen is absurd.

    1. Not that anyone has any clue what actually just happened. And Jack isn't exactly the guy you want to help Dick figure it out.

      1. That whole thing was asinine. Best they've been able to determine, when Molly reported the double switch, home plate conveyed the 7 defensive position subbing rather than the #7 spot in the batting order. This theory from someone on Twitter ... Lance did not have the best day at the office.

        1. If the rules permit require that sort of interpretation, such that a team can't effectuate what they actually intend, then that is a problem and the rule should be revised. The law was made for man, not man for the law.

  6. Dodgers prospect Alex Verdugo with perhaps the greatest HR in baseball history tonight. Fly ball to deep right bounces about ten feet up off of the RFer's head over the fence. Somebody find the video!

    1. Yea, I was watching the game when that happened. Not used to seeing the Giants be sellers.
