  1. I'm supposed to be in albuquerque, but Delta didn't seem to think I really wanted to go on vacation and delayed my flights into oblivion. here's to a 555am flight!

  2. I can't shake this feeling they're letting this guy off the hook tonight. Maybe they really should have saved some of those runs the other day.

      1. The Padres were trying to play spoiler by letting the twins hitters wear themselves out. They were playing the long game.

  3. Coming into this game Kennys Vargas slash line in RISP situations (248PA): .217/.278/.371/.649 ... 16 extra base hits (7 double 9 HR) 82 RBI 71 K.

  4. I could totally rock one of those big sexy shirts because. However, I feel like the size of the giveaway should be at least triple x.

  5. Dazz: "don't like that" in reference to showing the bunt here. Good for him, but will he be disciplined by the club?

    1. Heh, the fox sports base runner graphic forgot who was at second there and assumed they would make it to third on that swinging bunt.

      1. Okay, I did see that right! I thought he was on third for the single and thought Berrios had just given up a run.

          1. I'm fine with him taking out Berrios. But they've got like eighty other relievers I'd rather see than boshers.(who, of course, strikes his guy out while I was typing this.)

          2. speaking of Jansen, was it just last night? He loaded the bases with one out for Los Gigantes and the game on the line, just to raise the degree of difficulty. Struck out Buster and Hundley to end it. Ho hum.

  6. At work, glancing at game when I can. Just thought I would post a comment to get our counts up during this playoff drive. That is all.

  7. On the stove top tonight: Cornbread stuffed pork chops, roasted sweet potato, and roasted broccoli. Yeah, baby. (Though I did have a date with a green chili cheeseburger.... # screwyoudelta)

    1. One of our neighbors brought us some butter chicken the other day, so I had some of that over some rice tonight. Kicking back now with some homebrew kolsch.

        1. Nah, it's pretty easy since it's basically a lager that takes all the lagering work out. It turned out pretty nice, light and refreshing. Only problem is that the keg it's in isn't balanced for shit so it comes out all foam.

those numbers are going to be lower tomorrow.

  9. Is the air in Canada free of particulates? That's the second blue jay to need time for something in his eye.

      1. Living as close as I do too the Wisconsin state legislature as I do, we've got a huge problem with high concentrations of Bullshit particles in our air.

  10. So I was looking at Trevor's minor league stats and he's pretty much always been pretty good. I wonder why he was promoted so slowly.

    1. Right-handed side-armer without much velocity. Same thing with Neshek. He was drafted out of college in 2002 and didn't debut until 2006, also at 26.

    2. My guess is that his unusual delivery and lack of a big fastball made people think he wasn't likely to succeed in the majors, despite the fact that he'd succeeded everywhere else. It's my belief that sometimes scouts (and teams) make up their minds about someone based on very little and then, whether consciously or subconsciously, look for reasons to justify their opinion.

    1. I'm appreciating him actually being brought into the danger spots while leaving the easier ones (yesterday excepted) for Belisle.

      1. On the one hand, I totally agree. Put your best reliever in the highest leverage situation.

On the other hand, I feel like we'll always be seeing Willy Eyre in situations that he really has no business pitching in.

            1. Ortiz in his last season with the Twins: 272/339/500 (120 OPS+) with 87:43 K:BB in 466 PA. 299/371/548 against righties.

what the hell were they thinking?

  11. Dick kind of undersold how bizarre this Carlos Martinez has been. He started as a no-bat outfielder before transferring to pitcher a couple of years ago.

He has not given up an earned run at any level this season...in 46.2 innings (2 runs total between AA, AAA, and MLB). His WHIP has been under 0.7, his H/9 under 4.

  12. The joy of staying with the parents:

My mom looks up and says, "I just finished a Suduko. Time for Buxton to homer."

  13. It seems as though LOT of people were downright expecting Buxton to knock that pitch into the seats.

One of us should go back in time to last year or this spring and tell everyone that it's all going to be okay.

  14. Unfortunately, I both have too much work to do tomorrow and don't run on California time, so I'm out. Take care of the lead, Astro.

  15. Houston guys reading a tweet from "Mr. Vandelay". Reading it straight.

I'm wondering when the discussion of latex comes into play.
