  1. On Saturday wattsy observed that Carlos Beltrán must be one of the last active players with hits in both County Stadium and Tiger Stadium. He is, in fact, the only active player with hits in both of those ballparks, and the only remaining active player with a hit in Tiger Stadium.

There are, however, two other active players on the County Stadium list with Beltrán (who actually has the lowest OPS there). Who are they?

    1. I didn’t spend a ton of time on this, but here’s the number of active players with a hit in former MLB ballparks (and one exhibition venue):

      Park # Actives Players
      Astrodome 1 Beltré
      Candlestick (3Com) Park 1 Beltré
      Estadio Hiram Bithorn 14 many
      HHH Metrodome 87 many
Jack Murphy (Qualcomm) Stadium 10 many
      Joe Robbie Stadium ??? many
      Kingdome 1 Beltrán
      RFK Stadium 73 many
Riverfront (Cinergy) Stadium (Field) 3 Beltré/Ichiro/Pujols
      Shea Stadium 97 many
      Stade Olympique 17 many
      Three Rivers Stadium 4 Arroyo/Beltré/Beltrán/Colón
      Tiger Stadium 1 Beltrán
      Tokyo Dome 5* Denorfia/Ellsbury/Moss/Pedroia/K.Suzuki
      Turner Field 511 many
      Veterans Stadium 9 many
(Old New) Yankme Stadium 73 many

I didn’t bother to do a unique sum of players with hits in the various corporate-sponsor incarnations of Joe Robbie Stadium. The * for the number of active players with a hit in Tokyo Dome is for Ichiro, who has plenty of hits there from his NPB days, but none while in MLB.

  2. Popovich - I just amassed a ton more respect for him. No link due to forbidden topic, but you can probably find his comments on Google if you type a politician's name that rhymes with DUMP.
