Off-Season’s Greetings: Games of November 13

Two perfect innings of relief from Twins pitchers.

ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE

Twins:  Chris Paul was 0-for-2.  Sean Miller was 0-for-3.  Tyler Jay pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit and striking out one.  Tom Hackimer pitched a perfect inning while striking out one.

SCOTTSDALE 2, SURPRISE 0 IN SURPRISE

Thairo Estrada (Yankees) had an RBI triple in the second and scored on a sacrifice fly for the only two runs of the game.  Surprise out-hit Scottsdale 7-2.  Albert Abreu (Yankees) pitched five shutout innings, giving up six hits and two walks with no strikeouts.  Andrew Knizner (St. Louis) was 3-for-4 for Surprise.

GLENDALE 10, MESA 3 IN GLENDALE

Glendale scored five in the second and five in the third to take a 10-0 lead.  Yusniel Diaz (Dodgers) was 3-for-5 with a double.  Mitchell Tolman (Pittsburgh) was 1-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs.  D. J. Peters (Dodgers) hit a home run.  Andrew Sopko (Dodgers) pitched four shutout innings, giving up three hits and a walk while striking out two.

PEORIA 2, SALT RIVER 1 IN PEORIA

Peoria trailed 1-0 going to the eighth, but RBI singles by Eric Filia (Seattle) and Ronald Acuna (Atlanta) gave them the win.  Max Povse (Seattle) pitched six innings, giving up one run on seven hits and no walks while striking out four.  For Salt River, Ryan Atkinson (Arizona) struck out seven in five shutout innings, giving up two hits and three walks.
