December, 7 2017: Swing And A Miss

The Twins miss out on the Ohtani sweepstakes. They had the "small market" box checked off, though there was a bit more distance between them and Japan compared to the West Coast teams.

Though we'll likely never know, I wonder to what degree their past handling of Nishioka (as well as Park) played into the situation. They probably never were actually in the running, but I could see those past case studies causing a quick axe against an option that wasn't appealing to begin with.

      1. I still feel it's a step up from what I would've expected from the Twins of old, who lacked the vision to re-calibrate their thinking when things went south.

      1. I came from the north. I don't have anything particularly interesting for you at the moment and I wasn't sure how accessible the pockets of your winter jacket are, so I didn't approach.

      2. I went to Whole Foods to get a slice of pizza for lunch, and there were still a ton of birds in the bushes at that point.

  1. Getting called into work at , going outside and shoveling snow when its +6 degrees was not my ideal start to a morning.

    Time for a nap.
