VENEZUELAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.

LARA 8, MARGARITA 5 IN MARGARITA

Lara scored single runs in the first, second, and third.  The teams matched scoring after that, each scoring one in the fourth, two in the fifth, and two in the sixth.  Alejandro De Aza was 4-for-5 with a triple and a double for Lara.  Ildemaro Vargas was 3-for-4 with a home run, a walk, and three RBIs.  For Margarita, Johnny Davis was 3-for-5 with a double.

CARACAS 5, ARAGUA 2 IN CARACAS

Caracas scored two in the fourth to take a 3-1 lead and led the rest of the way.  Wilfredo Tovar was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, his second.  Manny Correa pitched five innings, giving up an unearned run on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts.

MAGALLANES 8, ZULIA 4 IN MAGALLANES

Magallanes scored three in the fourth and three in the fifth to take a 6-1 lead.  Alberth Martinez was 3-for-4 with a double.  Mario Lisson was 2-for-2 with two walks and three RBIs.  Derek Eitel pitched 4.2 innings, giving up one run on two hits and three walks and striking out four.

MEXICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.

JALISCO 12, MEXICALI 1 IN JALISCO

Already leading 4-0, Jalisco scored six in the fourth to put the game out of reach.  Donald Dewees, Jr. was 3-for-3 with a home run (his second) and four runs.  Japhet Amador was 2-for-4 with a home run, his fourth.  Manny Rodriguez was 2-for-5 with a home run, his eighth.  Jabari Blash was 2-for-5 with a home run, his second.  Tyler Alexander pitched seven shutout innings, giving up four hits and striking out five.  Luis Juarez hit a home run for Mexicali, his sixth.

MAZATLAN 4, OBREGON 2 IN OBREGON

Mazatlan scored two in the seventh to break a 2-2 tie.  Jesus Quiroz was 3-for-5.  Mitch Lively struck out nine in seven innings, giving up two runs on five hits and two walks.  For Obregon, Luis Mendoza pitched five innings, giving up two runs on nine hits and striking out two.

LOS MOCHIS 2, NAVOJOA 1 IN LOS MOCHIS

Saul Soto delivered a single-plus-error in the bottom of the ninth, allowing Noel Cuevas to score from first with the winning run.  Adrian Salcedo pitched five shutout innings, giving up two hits and two walks and striking out two.  Paul Leon hit a home run, his third, for Navojoa's only run.  Eddie Gamboa pitched seven innings for Navojoa, giving up one run on four hits and two walks and striking out four.

HERMOSILLO 3, CULIACAN 0 IN HERMOSILLO

A double and four consecutive singles plated three runs for Hermosillo in the fifth and that was all they needed.  Jose Samayoa struck out six in six shutout innings, giving up three hits.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  Kennys Vargas was 1-for-4 with a double.

LICEY 10, ESCOGIDO 4 IN LICEY

Leading 3-2, Licey scored five in the fourth to take control of the game.  Jorge Bonifacio was 2-for-5 with a home run (his second) and a double, driving in three.  Juan Francisco was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, his fourth.  For Escogido, Franchy Cordero was 2-for-2 with a home run (his fourth) and a double.

TOROS 7, GIGANTES 3 AT TOROS

The Toros scored one in the sixth to take a 3-2 lead and got four in the eighth to take control of the game.  Anderson Feliz hit a three-run double in the eighth inning.  Feliz was 3-for-4 with two doubles.  Jake Buchanan struck out five in five innings, giving up two runs on five hits and a walk.  For the Gigantes, Gabriel Ynoa pitched five innings, giving up two runs on four hits and striking out two.

AGUILAS 3, ESTRELLAS 2 AT AGUILAS (11 INNINGS)

A bases-loaded walk with one out in the eleventh brought home the winning run.  Wilmer Difo was 3-for-5 with a walk.  Pedro Severino was 3-for-4.  Yunesky Maya pitched five innings, giving up two runs on four hits and striking out one.  For the Estrellas, Frank Schwindel was 3-for-5 with a home run, his second.
