NAVOJOA 6, JALISCO 3 IN JALISCO

It was 2-2 after eight, but two-run homers by Max Ramirez and Alejandro Gonzalez won the game for Navojoa in the ninth.  Barry Enright pitched 7.1 innings, giving up two unearned runs on five hits and striking out four.  For Jalisco, Luis Mendoza pitched 5.1 innings, giving up one run on two hits and two walks and striking out two.

Navojoa leads the series 2-1.

CULIACAN 6, MEXICALI 0 IN CULIACAN

Culiacan scored two in the sixth, three in the seventh, and one in the eighth.  Ali Solis hit a three-run homer.  Anthony Vasquez pitched a complete game shutout, giving up four hits and striking out two.

Culiacan leads the series 3-0.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.

ESCOGIDO 5, LICEY 2 IN ESCOGIDO

Trailing 2-1, Escogido scored four in the seventh to take the lead to stay.  Irwin Delgado pitched four innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk and striking out three.  For Licey, Bryan Evans struck out eight in six innings, giving up two runs on four hits.

GIGANTES 3, AGUILAS 1 IN AGUILAS (10 INNINGS)

Carlos Paulino had an RBI double and later scored to put the Gigantes in the lead in the tenth.  Raul Valdes pitched six innings, giving up one run on six hits and two walks and striking out one.  For the Aguilas, Zoilo Almonte hit a home run, his second of the post-season.  Yunesky Maya pitched six innings, giving up an unearned run on five hits and a walk and striking out five.

AUSTRALIAN LEAGUE

Twins:  Logan Wade (Brisbane) was 4-for-6 with a home run and four RBIs.  Aaron Whitefield (Brisbane) was 2-for-6 with a home run, scoring twice and driving in two.

BRISBANE 5, MELBOURNE 4 IN BRISBANE (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)

Tyler Neslony singled home a run to take a 4-3 lead in the top of the seventh, but Andrew Campbell hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to win it for Brisbane.  Chih-Sheng Lin was 2-for-3 with a double and a home run, his ninth.  Campbell's home run was his sixth.  Donald Lutz hit a home run, his ninth.  For Melbourne, Delmon Young hit a two-run homer, his seventh.  Ryan Dale also homered.  Jon Kennedy struck out five in five innings, giving up two runs on four hits.

BRISBANE 12, MELBOURNE 9 IN BRISBANE (GAME 2--5 INNINGS--RAIN)

Melbourne scored four in the first, but Brisbane tied it 6-6 and then scored six in the fourth to take a 12-6 lead.  T. J. Bennett was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer, his tenth.  Logan Wade was 2-for-3 with a three-run homer, his sixth.  Aaron Whitefield was 2-for-3 with a home run, his second.  David Sutherland was 2-for-2 with a walk and a home run, his seventh.  For Melbourne, Delmon Young was 2-for-4 with two home runs, his eighth and ninth, and five RBIS.  Craig Maddox was 2-for-4 with a home run, his second.

CANBERRA 15, ADELAIDE 14 IN CANBERRA

Canberra led 12-3 after four.  It was tied 13-13 going to the bottom of the eighth, but Canberra scored two to go into the lead again.  Adelaide got one in the ninth but did not get the tying run past first base.  David Kandilas was 2-for-4 with a double and a home run (his ninth), scoring three times and driving in four.  Travis Witherspoon was 2-for-4 with a walk and a home run, scoring three times.  Buddy Reed was 2-for-6 with a home run, his seventh.  Cameron Warner was 1-for-2 with three walks and a home run, his second.  For Adelaide, Stephen Lohr was 3-for-4 with a home run (his second), two walks, and three runs.  Tom McGarry was 3-for-5.  Angus Roeger was 2-for-4 with two home runs (his fifth and sixth), a walk,  and three RBIs.  Karl Hoschke hit a home run.

PERTH 15, SYDNEY 7 IN SYDNEY (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)

Leading 5-3, Perth scored seven in the sixth to put the game out of reach.  Unrich Bojarski was 4-for-5 with a double and a home run (his second), scoring three times and driving in three.  Luke Hughes was 3-for-4 with a walk and a home run, his ninth.  Jake Fraley was 2-for-3 with a double, a home run (his tenth) and two walks, scoring three times.  Nick Veale pitched five innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits and a walk and striking out three.  For Sydney, Zac Shepherd hit a three-run homer and Connor McDonald hit a two-run homer, his sixth.

PERTH 10, SYDNEY 9 IN PERTH (GAME 2)

Perth led 9-0 after seven, but Sydney scored nine in the eighth to tie it 9-9.  Perth got one in the bottom of the eighth on two errors, a walk and a ground out.  The teams combined for seven errors, with Perth making five of them.  Ulrich Bojarski was 3-for-4 with a home run, his third.  Luke Hughes was 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs.  Garrett Whitley hit a home run, his fifth.  Matt Kennelly pitched seven shutout innings, giving up five hits and a walk and striking out five.  For Sydney, Chih-Hsien Chiang was 3-for-5 with three RBIs.  Jacob Younis was 3-for-5.

PUERTO RICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  Kennys Vargas was 0-for-2 with two walks.

SANTURCE 9, CAGUAS 1 IN SANTURCE

Santurce had four two-run innings.  Edwin Gomez was 2-for-4 with two two-run homers.  Jan Hernandez was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring three times.  Fernando Cruz pitched seven innings, giving up one run on six hits and a walk and striking out four.

CAROLINA 8, MAYAGUEZ 1 IN MAYAGUEZ

Carolina scored all of their runs in the first four innings, building an 8-0 lead.  Jeff Dominguez was 3-for-4 with a walk.  Aldemar Burgos was 3-for-5.  Mario Santiago pitched six innings, giving up one run on four hits and two walks and striking out two.
