        1. If they're still open, I'll take Thursdays (or Wed. if we don't have enough - there are more Wed than Thur games).

    1. I’ve done Tuesday’s in past. If someone wants it, I’ll give it up. If it’s empty, I’ll take it.

  1. I stuck Luminoodle's bias lighting on the back of my TV recently, it goes along the top and both sides, and am really enjoying it as well. Between the TV and the bias light, it allows me to leave more lamps off at night and reduce reflections on the screen. I need to get another one for the basement TV at some point.

  2. So, #1 ranked St. Cloud State gets knocked out in the first round of the tournament. I really hate premature elimination.

    1. Gopher puck gets well deserved grief for underperforming in NCAAs lately but SCSU has choked pretty hard over the last 5-7 years as well.

    1. I recently had to replace a flapper on an American Standard, 2-piece. Which involved removing the tank in order to replace the whole mechanism, which I had to order online. What a pain.

      1. I tried to be nice and install a dual-flush insert, but I think the existing overflow tube was shorter than it needed so it didn't work as advertised, plus "phantom flushes" every few minutes. No thanks --here you go Menards.

    1. Neat story and I also hope it works out. Key for them in a small town will be to get their product out to area bars and restaurants. Hard to make it work with just the tap room. We have a new brewery up here 30 minutes away in Ashby. Great guys, but it is a very small town that is a ghost town all winter.

My take is that our consumption for craft beer is not a bubble that will burst, but I do think we are getting to a point where there are just too many producers and some are going to fail. The bigger brewers in the state are finding it more of a challenge to get on tap lines outside their immediate area, as they are fighting more local producers in their target markets. I have only 12 lines (11 dedicated to craft brews) and they are highly coveted as we move a lot more of each line than places that have 30-50 tap lines. I have 15 or more minnesota breweries stopping by on a regular basis trying to get on a line, plus many brews pushed by our local distributors. Also, because local breweries are popping up all over the US, it is not longer a growth strategy of breweries to grow outside their own state. Everything is become local/regional. Guys and Gals travelling are looking for local/regional selection they cannot find in their home state. The business is changing fast!

      1. I'm not gonna lie, you're successful opening of a restaurant is one of my favorite stories around here. I do hope I have some reason to be out in that area so I can stop by at some point. (although that's pretty unlikely)

        1. Thank you. Since day 1, I have wanted to host a little gathering of citizens, but we are a bit off the beaten path for most of the group. If you ever do head this way, let me know. The venture has provided me the opportunity to meet and get to know nibbish, which is has been cool.

          1. Also one time I went there with nibbish and you ignored us. 😉

I'd love to get back sometime. It was excellent.

            1. Yeah, not one of my proudest moments, but I did have the excuse of my hair being on fire that first few weeks.

          2. A few months back I drove through, even saw the billboard for your place, but my trip to Moorhead was impromptu that morning so I didn't have enough time to plan for lunch. Next time I have to that way on business I'll try to squeeze it in.

      2. I'm through your neck of the woods a half-dozen times each year, but am either traveling with co-workers and 3/4 of the way to the destination, or traveling with a hunting buddy and only 1/3 of the way there. I do, however, point out your billboard every time I pass it and promise myself, "next time."

        Can I ask ... what's in the 1, non-craft brew line?

        1. Coors light. We first opened without any race car beer, but gave in a few months in.

    2. The next time i'm in 'peterville I'll swing by. Thanks for the heads up.

As to Zomm's point below, one of the best producers down here just failed. They went out of business because they couldn't get packages into the local booze marts and grocery stores, and where they could get their packages in they were relegated to the warm shelves. The local watering holes loved selling their beer, but they just couldn't make any real money. Seems that the industry is indeed micro (economic) and changing.

  3. I mean, at this point, they've at least got to give LaMarre a try out of camp, right? Granite isn't going to get regular reps up north, anyway.

    1. I'm not going to be outraged if LaMarre makes the team, but he's 29, and it's going to take more than 35 spring training at-bats to convince me he's not the same guy who's posted a .719 OPS in eight minor league seasons (.628 in AAA last year).

      1. I'm assuming there's a swing change and near Disney-level magic going on, and that this spring is the real deal.

Mostly, I just think it would be cool to have one of the guys I saw on the local baseball team play for the Twins - even if it would likely only be for a couple of weeks.
