Minor Details: Games of April 11

The Red Wings are still looking for a win.  A Lookouts comeback falls short.  Jimmy Kerrigan and Anthony Marzi lead the Miracle.  A big day for Alex Kirilloff helps the Kernels remain unbeaten.

SYRACUSE 7, ROCHESTER 1 IN ROCHESTER

The Chiefs scored two in the first and led all the way.  The Red Wings had only four hits.

Jake Cave hit a home run in the bottom of the first for the lone Rochester run.  Dietrich Enns pitched 3.2 innings, allowing four runs on nine hits and two walks and striking out two.  D. J. Baxendale pitched 2.1 innings, giving up an unearned run on two hits and striking out one.  Jake Reed pitched a scoreless inning, giving up two hits and striking out one.

PENSACOLA 6, CHATTANOOGA 5 IN PENSACOLA

The Lookouts trailed 6-1 going into the ninth.  With the scored 6-4, they had men on first and second with one out.  Nick Gordon singled, making the lead 6-5, but Ryan Walker was thrown out trying to go from first to third on the hit.  A strikeout then ended the game.

Gordon was 2-for-5.  Zander Weil was 2-for-3 with two doubles and a walk.  T. J. White hit a three-run homer in the ninth.  Zack Littell struck out ten in four innings, but gave up three runs on seven hits and a walk.

FORT MYERS 9, FLORIDA 0 IN FORT MYERS

Jimmy Kerrigan hit a three-run homer in a six-run second.  Anthony Marzi and Logan Lombana took it from there, limiting the Fire Frogs to five hits.

Mitchell Kranson was 3-for-4 with two RBIs.  Kerrigan was 2-for-5 with a double in addition to his second home run of the season and drove in four.  Alex Perez was 2-for-4 and scored twice.  Marzi pitched 6.1 innings, giving up four hits and no walks and striking out five.  Lombana pitched 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and striking out two.

CEDAR RAPIDS 12, PEORIA 9 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

The Kernels remained unbeaten, taking their fifth straight win.  They trailed 4-2, 5-3, and 8-7, but David Banuelos homered in the fifth to give them a 9-8 lead.  Cedar Rapids added two in the seventh and one in the eighth to go up 12-8.  Peoria loaded the bases with none out in the ninth, but could only score one on a sacrifice fly.

Alex Kirilloff was 3-for-5 with two home runs and six RBIs.  Ben Rodriguez was 3-for-5 with a home run and a double.  Banuelos was 2-for-5 with a home run.  Jordan Gore was 2-for-4 with a walk.  Ben Rortvedt was 2-for-5 with a double.  Randy Dobnak had a rough game, lasting just 3.2 innings and allowing eight runs on ten hits and two walks, striking out one.  Calvin Faucher struck out four in 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up a hit and a walk.  Ryan Mason struck out three in three innings, giving up one run on three hits.
