  1. Yeah, by the second time I heard Sting in the car on the local college station I started cluing in that it wasn't just the random oldies being played.

  2. I had a very enjoyable birthday yesterday by going unplugged. I spent the whole day with my wife (that's a rare thing itself). We had a nice walk in the sunshine, went out for lunch and Bloody Marys, took an afternoon nap (see: Bloody Marys), picked up some nice steaks at Von Hanson's and a bottle of Coppola Diamond Claret 2015 for a candlelight dinner. After that, baseball and a movie. The movie had a better ending than the game.

    1. So much go unpack here:

      1) Happy Birthday brother Twayn! I almost wished you a happy birthday on LinkedIn, but it only felt right to do so here.
      2) Afternoon naps after Bloodys are the bomb!
      3) Love the wine choice, if you ever get out in wine country Coppola's Winery is pretty cool.
      4) Totally unrelated, but if I am watching a The Office marathon and I do see just a bit of Michael Scott in my own management nuances, is it a good or a bad thing.

  3. Rounded out the pan-roasted pork chop today with: Monte Carlo Green Beans

Flew into Minny today (for a week of maintenance and ski-room projects). Microwaved green beans, then pan-seared with EVOO and Crystal Hot Sauce (sesame oil works here too). Monte Carlo serves them cold but hey.

    1. Greek-inspired chicken roasting in the oven, to be served with tzatziki, pitas, and fries, like the real thing.

      1. We're making a flank steak marinaded in balsamic and rosemary, and serving it with a big salad. no fries for this boyo /sademoji

        1. Grilled chix breasts (boneless/skinless, because on sale), steamed asparagus, heirloom tomato salad.

First grill event since my surgery (my dad did the Thanksgiving turkey this year -- I just supervised).

    2. I thought trace metals made microwaving green beans problematic.
I know they've given me sparks before (ruined plastic bowl in college).

  4. The Loons would be in a better place if they didnt give up back to back goals within 5 minutes every game.

  5. meat, if you haven't seen it yet, check out the latest Simpson's episode and their love letter to New Orleans, complete with guest voice Trombone Shorty
