    1. I hate this team. I hate their little league stadium. I hate every player on the team. I hate people trying to convince me this is a "lovable" Yankees team. I hate how incapable the Twins are of beating them.

Yankees week is pretty much the worst part of every baseball season for me. I sure wish it didn't immediately follow a sweep by the Rays and coincide with the Wolves getting eliminated by the detestable Rockets.

  1. Yesterday, all the homers were to the opposite field or center. Today, both are pulled down the line. Twins make adjustments and the Yankees just keep hitting them. The pitch to Didi was not really a mistake, just a hot hitter turning on a pitch on the inside corner. The 3-run homer on the other hand was definitely a mistake pitch down the middle. The 2 previous pitches were probably worse, though, since he was ahead 0-2 and threw 2 sliders way off the plate that had no chance of the guy going after it, so he could definitely sense that a fastball was coming 2-2.

    1. The pitchers have probably heard so much about giving up hits on 0-2 that now they're going to throw pitches that no one will ever swing at.

  2. Bases loaded, no outs, Grossman swings at a pitch in the dirt and then takes a fastball down the middle to go to 0-2 before grounding into a forceout and drive in a run.

  3. And a popup by Dozier to end it. Nice job guys. Way to follow three great at-bats with three terrible ones. At least we got one back. If we hold the Yankees at 5 runs...

    Yeah, right.

    1. It doesn't matter. If we'd scored four runs, the Yankees would've bounced back with seven.

    1. I agree, but we could also play an outfield of Rosario, Kepler, and LaMarre. It's not like Grossman's contributing anything on offense.

  4. Pop quiz: when do people think the current futility against the Yankees began? I don't have the answer but will attempt to get it soon.

          2. I remember a series against the Rays in August or around there really tanking the Twins chances that year

  5. Pressly now with 13 scoreless innings this year. He did allow one inherited runner so not completely perfect. Opponents have a .389 OPS against him.

  6. At least the Yankees have scored fewer runs each successive game while the Twins scored more each time.

      1. Ten hits and six walks (though 11 and seven respectively for the Yankees). Lot of people on base for both teams, mostly on the starters. They both finish the game with 7.71 ERAs.

  7. Not surprisingly, Kinley DFA-ed. I don't think Moya can be brought back yet and I'm guessing the Twins will want a long reliever anyways. I doubt the Twins will want to start the arb clock on Romero yet, so I'm guessing it will be Aaron Slegers, depending on when he started last.
