    *Notes:
    4. This is a pretty great Albini-recorded EP that I think shows Veruca Salt's peak (or at least I thought... I haven't re-evaluated). But then they got Bob Rock to produce the album that came out 10 months later, and it sounded like a Bob Rock record (at least the radio-play singles... I never bought it).

    7. Bootleg recording. Northampton, Mass.

    8. Carl Craig, Kenny Dixon Jr, Shake, and DJ Stingray

    T. Bootleg recording. EAR was there, I was home with the baby and toddler.

  4. Feeling out of the loop on modern hip-hop, such as the Pulitzer Prize winner.
    Can I ask for representative single-song recommendations from a few such artists? (Preferably with youtube/soundcloud/bandcamp links).
    TIA.

      1. I'm only about 4 minutes into casually listening to it and I'm strongly reminded of Dr. Octagon.
        Jean Grae's voice reminds me of Ladybug from the Digable Planets, when Ladybug was talking (not rapping) in intros/background.

  6. * Another Morning Stoner - ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead - Source Tags and Codes
    * Rope - Gowns - Red State
    ---------------Detour to listen to "Clawless" and "Cherylee" from that Gowns album. Two songs that always demand my full attention. --------------

    * Another Morning Stoner - ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead - Source Tags and Codes -- My randomizer is insistent on this song, apparently.
    * Straight A's - Sleigh Bells - Treats
