Minor Details: Games of May 2

Another rough game for Myles Jaye.  The Lookouts lose a lead but win anyway.  Tyler Wells and Tyler Watson bounce back from bad games to throw shutouts.

PAWTUCKET 7, ROCHESTER 6 IN PAWTUCKET

Jermaine Curtis hit a three-run homer in the fifth to give the Red Wings a 3-1 lead, but in the bottom of the fifth the Red Sox got a three-run homer from Jordan Betts and they never trailed again.  Rochester had the tying run on second with two out in the eighth but their last four batters were retired.

Curtis was 2-for-5 with four RBIs.  James Ramsey was 2-for-2 with a walk.  Willians Astudillo was 1-for-5 with a home run, his second.  Wynston Sawyer made his AAA debut and went 1-for-3 with two runs.  Myles Jaye pitched 4.2 innings, allowing five runs on eight hits and a walk and striking out three.  Casey Crosby pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and striking out one.  His ERA remains at zero through 3.1 innings.

CHATTANOOGA 7, MOBILE 6 IN MOBILE (10 INNINGS)

The Lookouts led 6-0 after five, but lost all of the lead.  In the tenth, the Manfred Rule put LaMonte Wade on second.  He went to third on a wild pitch and scored on a sacrifice fly.  In the bottom of the inning, an error put men on first and third, but a strikeout and a double play ended the game.

Edgar Corcino was 2-for-4 with two doubles and a walk, driving in two.  Zander Weil was 2-for-5 with a walk and is batting .321.  Alex Perez made his 2018 AA debut.  He went 1-for-2 with three walks and two runs.  Nick Gordon was 1-for-5 with a double and a walk and is batting .339.  Lewis Thorpe struck out six in four shutout innings, giving up two hits and five walks.  He threw 89 pitches.

FORT MYERS 5, TAMPA 0 IN TAMPA

Joe Cronin hit a two-run triple in the third and the Miracle added single runs in the fifth, seventh, and ninth.  Fort Myers had just five hits but drew seven walks and got the benefit of three Tarpons errors.

Cronin was 2-for-4 with a triple and a walk, driving in three.  He is batting .360.  Robby Rinn made his high-A debut and his Twins organization debut, going 1-for-2 with a double and two walks.  Tyler Wells shook off a bad game last week, going six shutout innings and giving up two hits and a walk and striking out four.  His ERA is 2.70.  Andrew Vasquez struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up four hits.  His ERA is 1.23.  Hector Lujan pitched a perfect inning and struck out one.

CEDAR RAPIDS 5, SOUTH BEND 0 IN CEDAR RAPIDS (5 INNINGS--RAIN)

The Kernels scored three in the third to take a 4-0 lead.  The Cubs were threatening in the top of the sixth, with men on first and third with one out, when play was stopped.  South Bend had only three hits, two of them coming in the sixth.

Jean Carlos Arias was 3-for-3 with two RBIs.  Jordan Gore was 0-for-2 and is batting .353.  Tyler Watson bounced back from a poor outing to pitch a "complete game".  He struck out six in 5.1 scoreless innings, giving up three hits and no walks.
