Minor Details: Games of May 8

Another excellent game for Aaron Slegers.  A big game for Chris Paul.  Home runs by Mark Contreras and Jaylin Davis lead the Miracle.  The Kernels blow a big lead.

ROCHESTER 2, BUFFALO 1 IN BUFFALO

James Ramsey doubled home a run in the fifth to give the Red Wings a 2-1 lead.  The Bisons got only one hit after the fourth inning.

Jimmy Kerrigan was 1-for-3 and is batting .300.  Aaron Slegers had another fine game, going seven innings and giving up one run on four hits and a walk and striking out five.  His ERA is 2.41.  Tyler Duffey pitched a scoreless inning, giving up a walk and striking out one. His ERA is 1.88.  John Curtiss pitched a perfect inning, striking out one.  His ERA is 2.38.

CHATTANOOGA 9, JACKSON 8 IN CHATTANOOGA (10 INNINGS)

The Lookouts had leads of 5-3 and 8-4, but the Generals tied it in the ninth inning, bringing the Manfred Rule into play.  Jackson did not score.  In the bottom of the tenth, a line out and a ground out put a man on third with two out.  Two intentional walks loaded the bases and an error brought home the winning run.

Chris Paul was 4-for-5 with two doubles and a walk, scoring three times.  T. J. White was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer (his fourth) and a double, scoring twice.  Brian Navarreto was 2-for-5.  Nick Gordon was 2-for-6 and is batting .325.  Alex Perez was 1-for-3 with three walks and is batting .368.  Zander Weil was 1-for-5 with a walk and is batting .320.  Kohl Stewart struck out six in six innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on ten hits and no walks.

FORT MYERS 6, CHARLOTTE 3 IN FORT MYERS

Jaylin Davis hit a two-run homer in the sixth to give the Miracle a 4-3 lead and Fort Myers scored two more in the eighth.

Taylor Grezelakowski (which according to the Miracle broadcaster is pronounced "JEL-a-KOW-ski") was 3-for-4 with two doubles and is batting .316.  Mark Contreras was 2-for-4 with two home runs.  Lewin Diaz was 2-for-4.  Joe Cronin was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring twice.  He is batting .310.  Davis was 1-for-3 with a home run (his second) and a walk.  Tyler Wells struck out five in four innings, giving up two runs on five hits and a walk.  His ERA is 2.96.  Ryan Mason pitched 3.1 scoreless innings, giving up a hit and a walk and striking out three.

DAYTON 8, CEDAR RAPIDS 6 IN DAYTON

The Kernels led 6-0 after three and a half, but the Dragons scored four in the fourth and four in the seventh.  Narciso Crook hit a three-run double-plus-error in the seventh to bring home the go-ahead runs.

Akil Baddoo was 2-for-3 with a double and two walks, scoring twice.  Alex Kirilloff was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk.  Royce Lewis was 2-for-5 with a double, scoring twice.  He is batting .373.  Jordan Gore was 1-for-2 with a double and two walks and is batting .333.  Tyler Watson pitched five innings, giving up four runs on five hits and three walks and striking out three.  Moises Gomez pitched a perfect inning.
