Minor Details: Games of May 12

Nick Gordon is ready to move up.  A solid rehab start for Trevor May.  The Kernels lose one late.

ROCHESTER AT SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE

Rained out.

CHATTANOOGA 9, TENNESSEE 6 IN CHATTANOOGA

The Lookouts lost a 5-2 lead but scored four in the seventh to win the game.  Their first five batters in the inning reached base, two on doubles and three on singles.

Zander Weil was 3-for-5 with a double, scoring twice and driving in two.  He is batting .325.  LaMonte Wade was 2-for-3 with two walks.  Nick Gordon was 2-for-4 with two runs and is batting .346.  It's time for him to move up.  Chris Paul was 2-for-4.  Lewis Thorpe pitched just 3.1 innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and three walks and striking out two.  Cody Stashak pitched 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up a hit and striking out one.  His ERA is 2.92.  Todd Van Steensel pitched two perfect innings and struck out three.  His ERA is 2.08.

DUNEDIN 2, FORT MYERS 1 IN DUNEDIN

Jimmy Kerrigan singled home a run in the ninth to tie it, but the Miracle left men on first and third.  It cost them, as Joshua Palacios singled home the winning run with two out in the ninth for the Blue Jays.

Fort Myers had just four hits.  Taylor Grzelakowski was 1-for-3 and is batting .303.  Kerrigan was 1-for-4 and is batting .327.  Trevor May, on a rehab assignment, struck out five in three shutout innings, giving up one hit and three walks.  Andrew Vasquez struck out three in two perfect innings.  His ERA is 0.86.

BOWLING GREEN 4, CEDAR RAPIDS 1 IN BOWLING GREEN

The Hot Rods scored three in the eighth to break a 1-1 tie.  They had two singles and two doubles in the inning.

Shane Carrier was 2-for-4.  Jean Carlos Arias was 2-for-4.  Royce Lewis was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk and is batting .347.  Jordan Gore was 1-for-4 and is batting .311.  Bryan Sammons pitched 5.1 innings, giving up one run on five hits and three walks and striking out four.
