Minor Details: Games of May 16

Dietrich Enns with a good game.  Brent Rooker hits his fourth homer.  The Miracle gets swept.  So do the Kernels.

ROCHESTER 6, SYRACUSE 4 IN ROCHESTER

The Red Wings scored five runs in the first inning and held on.  The Chiefs cut the margin to 5-4 before Rochester got an insurance run in the eighth.

Jake Cave was 2-for-4 with a triple and a double, driving in two.  Ryan LaMarre was 1-for-3 with a walk and is batting .438.  Wynston Sawyer was 0-for-2 with a walk and is batting .412.  Dietrich Enns pitched five innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks and striking out four.  Luke Bard pitched two shutout innings, giving up a hit and two walks.  His ERA remains zero in 7.1 innings.  Nick Anderson pitched a perfect inning and struck out one.  His ERA is 1.56.

CHATTANOOGA 8, TENNESSEE 6 IN CHATTANOOGA

The Lookouts trailed 5-4 through six but scored four in the seventh.  A two-run wild pitch-plus-error brought home the tying and lead runs.

Brent Rooker was 2-for-3 with a home run (his fourth), scoring twice.  Zander Weil was 2-for-4 and is batting .323.  LaMonte Wade was 2-for-5 with two RBIs and is batting .305.  Alex Perez was 0-for-4 and is batting .378.  Brian Olson was 0-for-3 and is batting .333.  Anthony Marzi pitched 5.1 innings, allowing five runs on five hit and a walk and striking out four.  Tyler Jay pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up three hits.  His ERA is 1.46.

JUPITER 4, FORT MYERS 3 IN JUPITER (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)

The Miracle tied the score 3-3 in the seventh but could not take the lead despite having the bases loaded with one out.  Anfernee Seymour doubled home the losing run in the bottom of the seventh.

Jimmy Kerrigan was 1-for-3 and is batting .327.  Taylor Grzelakowski was 1-for-4 with a home run (his fourth) and is batting .315.  Kevin Marnon struck out four in three innings, allowing three runs on five hits and no walks.  Logan Lombana struck out four in 3.1 innings, giving up one run on four hits and no walks.

JUPITER 3, FORT MYERS 2 IN JUPITER (GAME 2--7 INNINGS)

All the runs scored in the fourth inning.  Aaron Knapp singled home the lead run.

Mark Contreras was 2-for-2 with a double and a walk.  Jimmy Kerrigan was 0-for-3 and is batting .318.  Taylor Grzelakowski was 0-for-3 and is batting .303.  Paco Rodriguez struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk in his debut with the Twins organization.  Hector Lujan struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk.

QUAD CITIES 6, CEDAR RAPIDS 2 IN CEDAR RAPIDS (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)

The River Bandits scored five in the second and took control early.  Cody Bohanek hit a two-run homer in the inning.  All the runs were unearned, as the Kernels started the inning with two errors.

Royce Lewis was 0-for-1 with two walks and is batting .340.  Alex Kirilloff was 0-for-3 and is batting .310.  Tyler Watson pitched five innings, allowing five unearned runs on seven hits and two walks and striking out three.  His ERA is 2.63.

QUAD CITIES 8, CEDAR RAPIDS 4 IN CEDAR RAPIDS (GAME 2--7 INNINGS)

The River Bandits again scored five in the second and took control early.  Jacob Myers hit a three-run homer in the inning.  Quad Cities out-hit the Kernels 13-4.

Royce Lewis was 0-for-3 with a walk and is batting .330.  Alex Kirilloff was 0-for-2 with two walks and is batting .305.  Randy Dobnak pitched 4.2 innings, allowing eight runs on eleven hits and no walks and striking out three.  Calvin Faucher struck out three in 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and two walks.  His ERA remains at zero in 8.2 innings.
