The Red Wings continue to not hit. Kohl Stewart pitches very well but still takes a loss. An excellent game for Tyler Wells. Alex Kirilloff keeps hitting.
DURHAM 6, ROCHESTER 1 IN ROCHESTER
Andrew Velasquez hit a three-run double in the fourth to give the Bulls a 4-0 lead. The lone Red Wings run came in the bottom of the fourth on a sacrifice fly.
Zack Granite (remember him?) was 2-for-4. Willians Astudillo was 2-for-4. Wynston Sawyer was 0-for-3 and is batting .327. Rochester had five hits, all singles.
Zack Littell pitched four innings, allowing four runs on five hits and four walks and striking out three. Tyler Duffey pitched two shutout innings, giving up two hits and striking out one. His ERA is 1.38. Alan Busenitz pitched two perfect innings. His ERA is 0.38 and his WHIP is 0.83. He has 28 strikeouts and 5 walks in 24 innings. He must be wondering what he has to do to get another chance.
MONTGOMERY 2, CHATTANOOGA 1 IN MONTGOMERY
Brent Rooker homered in the first inning, but that was it for the Lookouts. The run held up until the fifth, when Jake Cronenworth hit a two-run double.
Chattanooga had just three hits and made three errors. Edgar Corcino had two of the hits, going 2-for-4. Andy Wilkins made his season debut and went 0-for-3, striking out all three times. Mitchell Kranson made his AA debut and went 0-for-2.
Kohl Stewart struck out nine in seven innings, giving up two runs on six hits and two walks. Cody Stashak pitched a perfect inning.
FORT MYERS 2, DUNEDIN 1 IN FORT MYERS
RBI singles by Joe Cronin and Travis Blankenhorn provided both Miracle runs in the third inning. The Blue Jays lone run came in the ninth on a Kevin Smith homer.
Jimmy Kerrigan was 2-for-3.
Tyler Wells pitched seven shutout innings, giving up three hits and two walks and striking out four. His ERA is 2.47.
WISCONSIN 5, CEDAR RAPIDS 1 IN WISCONSIN
The Kernels scored one in the top of the second, but the Timber Rattlers came back with three in the bottom of the second and led the rest of the way.
Alex Kirilloff was 2-for-4 with a triple and is batting .324. Jose Miranda was 2-for-4. Andrew Bechtold was 2-for-4. Jordan Gore was 1-for-4 and is batting .302. Robert Molina made his Cedar Rapids debut and was 0-for-4.
Melvi Acosta pitched two innings, giving up three runs (one earned) on three hits and a walk and striking out two. His ERA is 2.30. Tanner Kiest pitched four innings, giving up one run on two hits and one walk and striking out two.
