Game 75 — Twins at White Sox

Twins embark on the great Upper Midwest Baseball Tour(TM) with a three game stint against the Southside Pale Hosers. At 25 games under .500, the Sox are as bad as advertised so it would be nice to take all three games this week before heading into the friendly confines of Wrigley over the weekend.

Lance Lynn on the mound for the Twins. He's as excruciating slow as ever, but at least he's been productive with a 4-1 record and 1.73 ERA in his last 5 starts. Reynaldo Lopez on the mound for the White Sox, coming off a pretty bad outing against Cleveland (or was it Toronto?). Game may take 3.5 hours but I like the Twins chances.

First pitch at The Rate. Potential for rain is receding in Chicago, so hopefully the tour can start off with a win.

    1. So, switching over to Rochester and Syracuse. The Red Wings lead 3-2 in the sixth. Zack Littell is pitching. Chris Carter hit a home run. Byron Buxton is not in the lineup.

  1. So I guess we're going to have a ball game. Unfortunately, I won't be around for it. Go Twins!

      1. And when you wake up, you'll find out it shortly be 2-0 thanks to adrianza, of all people.

  2. Don cherry* is behind home plate wearing af***ing m&m jacket.

*may not actually be Don cherry.

      1. I was a little. But more seriously, there was an old guy with white hair and a beard sitting behind home plate wearing a bright yellow m&ms jacket and it made me think of Don Cherry.

        1. I was tipped off by that and your "stink butt" comment. Some times you have a hard time censoring your language 🙂

      1. Looks to me that he was mediocre, and it's the bullpen that needs to be taken to the woodshed. And when did we decide that Busenitz was a good idea again?!?

        1. When he had an ERA of 1.27 and a WHIP of 0.88 with 32 strikeouts in 28.1 innings in Rochester.

        2. That's a fair assessment. I fell asleep after the Twins went up 4-2 so I'm just going off of box score. Still, though, he seems to be slowly morphing into a modern Pelfrey in terms of pitchers I just don't want to watch.

          1. Even including last night, he has a 2.40 ERA in his last 7 starts. He had a horrible start to the year, but he's been much better. He also has more strikeouts than innings pitched, so he's definitely different from Pelfrey in that aspect. The walk rate is well above his career rate and hopefully just a short-term thing. If he can get those back down closer to 4 per 9, he should be back to being the pitcher he was. His last three seasons, he had a 129 ERA+.
