  1. Okay, now move Rodney to the outfield and bring him back for a second chance at the save.

  2. I was just going to ask how people figured Belisle pitching against Betts, Benintendi, and Martinez was going to go.

It was over quicker than i thought. But not by much.

    1. Two more prospects in return, this time Low-A and AA.

      1. Wow. I didn't expect trading Pressly. Molitor couldn't trust him to be the setup guy. Astros fans better not check out his splits in high leverage situations. They're not pretty.

      2. Celestino is a 19 yo CF batting .317/.383/.476 in low-A ball. Alcala is a 22 yo pitcher with a decent ERA but just made it to AA this year midseason and has alternated between starting and relieving.

    1. Good for Molitor for feeling frosty and wanting to win, but I like the fact that the front office removes emotion from their decisions. Let's be honest, with a 1% chance of making the playoffs, it makes sense to gather some assets. I will totally miss Escobar, and I get why people are upset. However, for once we are selling high on someone. Pressly too.

Regarding Molitor's job security, you would think that if they pull talent off the team, there is very little expectation they will make a serious run.

Oh, and I am feeling pretty frosty myself when it comes to guys underachieving. Sano, needs to figure out how to prepare in the off season. By "prepare" I do not mean eat cheeseburgers at every meal. I know some people think the press and team are too hard on him. Sure, there are a few players who can still thrive as overweight MLB players. Sano is not in that category. I am a big Dozier fan, but I am so tired of him sucking the first half+ of the year. Part of the reason we have been in "sell" mode often is Dozier waiting until August to get it going. I have been a huge Mauer apologist for years and years. This season, I am just tired of waiting for him to produce at the level his elite hitting talents would dictate. His numbers are OK and we tend to be satisfied with that, but it sure seems like he could do more. Yes, I am tired of the "wait til the year after next" mentality we are all forced to embrace, but folks, this is baseball and plans change due to player injuries, players under performing, bad luck, etc. Lastly, I wish Byron Buxton would just take the plunge and sacrifice a chicken or something in order to shake the incredibly bad luck he has experienced. We need him healthy and roaming center field.

      1. Joe was performing at an elite level this season...then had another concussion incident. If you're tired, don't be tired waiting for him to perform, be tired waiting for him to be concussion-free.
