Minor Details: Games of August 3

Willians Astudillo goes deep again in a Red Wings loss.  Luke Raley hits his first home run in the Twins organization.  An excellent game for Brusdar Graterol.  Ryan Jeffers keeps hitting.  So does Gilberto Celestino.  Kai-Wei Teng has a fine game.  Victor Heredia has a big day.

PAWTUCKET 7, ROCHESTER 4 IN PAWTUCKET

The Red Wings led 4-2, but the Red Sox scored one in the seventh and one in the eighth to tie it.  In the ninth, Brandon Phillips hit a two-out three-run homer to decide the game.

Edgar Corcino was 2-for-4.  Juan Graterol was 2-for-4 and is batting .300.  Willians Astudillo was 1-for-4 with a three-run homer, his eleventh.

Nick Anderson was apparently the opener, striking out three in 1.2 innings and giving up one run on four hits.  Stephen Gonsalves then pitched 5.1 innings, giving up two runs on five hits and three walks and striking out three.

CHATTANOOGA 6, MISSISSIPPI 1 IN CHATTANOOGA

Tanner English hit a two-run double in the second and Luke Raley hit a two-run homer in a three-run third that gave the Lookouts a 5-0 lead.

Jaylin Davis was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.  Raley was 2-for-3 with a walk in addition to the two-run homer and scored twice.  Zander Wiel was 1-for-4 with a walk and is batting .316.

Dietrich Enns pitched five innings, giving up one run on five hits and a walk and striking out four.  Tyler Wells struck out seven in four shutout innings in his AA debut, giving up only two walks.

FORT MYERS 7, FLORIDA 1 IN FORT MYERS

Aided by four walks, the Miracle scored two in the first to take a 2-1 lead.  They added two more in the seventh and three in the eighth.

Ryan Costello was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and two walks, scoring twice.  He is batting .429.  Ernie De La Trinidad was 1-for-4 with a double and a walk, dropping his average to .500.  Alex Kirilloff was 1-for-5 with a double and is batting .369.  Royce Lewis was 1-for-2 with three walks, scoring twice.  He is batting .319.

Brusdar Graterol pitched six innings, giving up an unearned run on five hits and no walks and striking out five.  Jovani Moran struck out five in two shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk.  His ERA is 1.29.  Ryan Mason pitched a scoreless inning, giving up two hits and striking out one.

PEORIA 5, CEDAR RAPIDS 1 IN PEORIA

Brandon Benson's two-run homer in the sixth put the Chiefs up 5-1.  The Kernels did not get a hit after the sixth.

Ryan Jeffers was 2-for-2 with a double and two walks.  He is batting .342.  Michael Davis was 1-for-3 and is batting .321.

Blayne Enlow pitched 5.1 innings, allowing five runs on nine hits and a walk and striking out three.  Melvi Acosta pitched 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up three hits and two walks.  His ERA is 2.52.

ELIZABETHTON 7, PULASKI 6 IN PULASKI

Robert Molina hit a two-run homer in the eighth to put the Twins ahead 7-5.  The Yankees got one back in the eighth and had the tying run on second in the ninth.

Yunior Severino was 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and a walk, scoring twice.  He is batting .301.  Gilberto Celestino was 3-for-5 and is batting .563.  Molina was 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk and is batting .364.  Alex Robles was 0-for-3 with a walk and is batting .328.  Jared Akins was 1-for-3 and is batting .317.

Andrew Cabezas struck out five in 4.2 innings but allowed four runs on five hits and two walks.  Zach Neff struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.  His ERA is 2.35.

GCL TWINS 8, GCL RED SOX 0 AT TWINS

The Twins scored six in the second and two in the third.  The Red Sox had only five hits, all singles.

Agustin Marte was 2-for-3.  Kidany Salva was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs.  Christian Cavaness was 1-for-4 with a home run.

Kai-Wei Teng pitched five shutout innings, giving up three hits and two walks and striking out three.  Niklas Rimmel pitched two shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk and striking out one.  His ERA remains zero through 5.1 innings.  Frandy Torres pitched two perfect innings.

DSL ANGELS 4, DSL TWINS 3 AT TWINS (8 INNINGS--COMPLETION OF SUSPENDED GAME)

The Twins led 1-0, 2-1, and 3-2, but it was tied 3-3 at the end of seven.  Andres Gonzalez singled home the lead run in the top of the eighth.  The Twins did not advance their runner past second, hitting three fly balls.

Felix Reyes was 2-for-3 with a double and is batting .400.  Victor Heredia was 1-for-3.

Miguel Rodriguez pitched three innings, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks and striking out three.  Yeremi Garcia pitched a scoreless inning, giving up two walks and striking out one.  Cristian Castro struck out nine in four innings, giving up two unearned runs on one hit and one walk.

DSL TWINS 7, DSL ANGELS 6 AT TWINS (SCHEDULED GAME--7 INNINGS)

The Twins led 2-0, trailed 5-2, but then scored five in the sixth to go into the lead to stay.  They had only one hit in the inning, drawing five walks and also getting a wild pitch and a passed ball.  The Angels scored once in the seventh and had the tying run on second base with none out.

Victor Heredia was 3-for-4 with a home run (his seventh), two runs, and three RBIs.  He is batting .351.  Luis Milla was 1-for-2 with a walk and is batting .313.  Ruben Santana was 0-for-4 and is batting .307.

Jesus Toledo struck out eight in four shutout innings, giving up three hits and no walks.
