Brandon McCarthy is retiring. He will end his career with 69 wins and a 4.20 ERA.
Not a great career, but certainly not a bad one. He pitched in the majors for all or part of thirteen seasons, which in itself is not an easy thing to do.
I love that the Padre didn’t take bait.
Was there some innuendo that I missed?
Yes. After seeing it, one would often respond with "nice".
I think the 4.20 probably mellowed everyone out too much.
A nice career that netted him $70 million dollars for 10.1 rWAR.
