If it’s primarily a road uni & Prince-inspired, shouldn’t the wordmark say “Minnesota”?
Perhaps, but maybe the word Minnesota looks weird/aesthetically unpleasing in the Prince script.
Instead of a wordmark at all, how about a large, centered, all-purple Minnesota (the actual state’s shape) with white Prince script numbers nestled inside it?

And I see this is just the white version of a uniform previously done in black.
