  1. Looks like the 76ers are all in on a title run this year while Jimmy Buckets is still around.

They traded vets Wilson Chandler (starting SF) and Mike Muscala (rotation guy) and rookie with big potential Landry Shamet, plus 2 future 1st-round picks (2020, Miami's unprotected 2021) and 2 2nds for Tobias Harris, Boban! and Mike Scott.

Gald to see Boban and Tobias are going together. They are a hilarious odd couple.

  2. First Shingrix vaccine shot yesterday -- arm is very minorly sore. Unlike previous vaccine, Shingrix is not living, so no possibility of getting shingles from the shot. Sometime in 2-5 months we'll need shot #2, and according to Walmart Neighborhood Market, those 2nd shots get priority over first timers, just need to drop by and remind them to have us on the list come April.

Still got the sinus thing, though. Did not feel comfortable standing at my workstation; still a little weak. On a positive note, I've lost six lbs since Sunday

  3. So our in house cribbage leagues wrapped up their regular seasons this week. Last night Nibbish and his partner won our Tuesday night league! Congrats! On Monday night, my team jumped from 7th place to 1st place to win the Monday night league! We be representing WGOM! Now, I will see if we can make it a WGOM sweep during my late night league tonight (first place going into the final night).

    1. Did you start your league? I’m jonesing for real live card playing, and there are no cribbage leagues here. There may be a perfect German themed bar for a league though ....

      1. Yes, we are about 2 years in. Up to 4 leagues. Monday through Wednesday at 6, and Wednesday at 830. We have a total of 116 players. Can't believe how crazy it's gotten. About 30 names on a waiting list to get in.

  4. If you happen to live near a Meijer's (good luck), they apparently have purple border parallel cards of this years' Topps. Walgreens' will have a yellow border parallels sometime in April. This apparently is supposed to take to place of Toys R' Us

    1. At 5'7", he is definitely a short reliever.

His height, or lack thereof, was the only thing I really remembered about him. Looking at the numbers, he was a decent reliever for the Royals from 2011-2014, then missed two years with Tommy John surgery. He apparently still wasn't ready in 2017, as he made just 18 minor league appearances in the Nationals' organization. He split last season between AAA and the majors, and was apparently used as a LOOGY--in half of his 38 appearances he faced two or fewer batters, so that he pitched a total of 22.2 innings. His numbers last year aren't impressive, but it's a small sample size.

He's twenty-nine, so he still could do something. He's struck out 9.3 batters per nine innings, so definitely a strikeout pitcher. Even last year he was at 8.3 in the majors and 9.6 in the minors. On the other hand, he walks a lot of guys--5.1 per nine innings. I don't expect a lot, but I can see where he'd be worth looking at.

  5. Wow. Dallas trades Harrison Barnes to Sactown for Justin Jackson and the dessicated husk of Z-bo.

    Why? For both teams.
