  1. Gladden pins Austin's DFA on Odorizzi's poor start rather than management's refusal to recognize that a starting pitcher just might have a bad start eventually.

    1. When was the last time you saw a starting pitcher pulled in the first inning with only 2 runs scored (and it wasn't all walks) and 2 outs. If he gets the Phillies' worst non-pitcher batter out, he's out of the inning and starts the second facing the pitcher. Yes, we had a rested bullpen and Perez was pitching on regular rest, but that was an awfully quick hook. I blame Austin being DFA-ed on Rocco's decision to pull Odo so quickly.

  2. Buxton singles, steals second, makes third on grounder to short, and scores on a wild pitch. Obviously Kepler will then smash the ball and skip all that running.

  3. Castro has started three games at catcher for a total of 21 innings. Garver started once but has caught in three games to also reach 21 innings. Astudillo has now started twice to also appear in three games. If he finishes today's game, he'll also be at 21 innings behind the plate.

      1. The most exciting player & most unusual player on the roster, combining to get the most annoying player on the other side out at the plate. There’s nothing to not love there.

  4. Just finished Opening Day at the Runner lawn (started first pull!) and just saw the bases loaded no outs situation. I immediately closed Gameday to not jinx it.

    1. Reminds me of GW basketball's leading scorer my freshman year: SirValiant Brown

  5. Internet dropped just in time for me to miss the bottom of the ninth. Good game, everyone. High fives and ass slaps all around.

  6. Damn, sounds like I missed a fun one. Instead I spent that time killing myself digging up a 300 Sq ft patch of back yard for the giant freekin playset my mom got the kids. I think I'll go get Moscow mule ingredients to celebrate the win and dull the ache in my back. Stupid shovels.

  7. Last year, the Twins opened the season with a 5 game roadie and went 3-2. This year, they are 3-1!
