I could have understood if he got that money after the 2013 season, but it's not like he was that guy after that. The 2014 season would have scared me off of any extension. 2015 was definitely great, but not "we can't lose this guy" great.

Malique Ziegler is kind of a cool name, but about all I see to really recommend him is that he draws a decent number of walks and he's young enough that he might improve. On the other hand, while I'm still upset at the bungling that cost us Tyler Austin, it's not like you can expect to get a top prospect for him. I suppose something is better than nothing.
