A wild pitch scored the go-ahead run in the sixth and a five-run ninth put the game out of reach.

Batting stars:  LaMonte Wade was 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs.  Jordany Valdespin was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.  John Andreoli was 2-for-5.  Wilin Rosario was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer (his second) and two runs.

Pitching stars:  Sean Poppen struck out five in five innings, giving up two runs on five hits and three walks.  Preston Guilmet pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up a walk and striking out one.  Austin Adams struck out two in 1.2 perfect innings.

The Blue Wahoos scored two in the second and led the rest of the way.

Batting stars:  Brian Schales was 3-for-3 with a home run, two doubles and a walk, scoring twice and driving in two.  Jaylin Davis was 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs.  Brian Navaretto was 2-for-4 with a double.  Drew Maggi was 1-for-4 with a home run.

Pitching stars:  Jorge Alcala pitched five innings, giving up two runs on five hits and no walks and striking out four.  Ryan Mason struck out two in 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up one hit.

Opposition stars:  Justin Twine was 3-for-4.

Alcala's ERA is 1.80.  Jovani Moran gave up a run in 1.1 innings and has an ERA of 2.70.  Mason's ERA remains zero.

Record:  The Blue Wahoos are 4-2, tied for first with Biloxi.

The Kernels scored four in the sixth to take a 5-1 lead and held on, taking advantage of five Cougar errors.
