The Red Sox scored eight runs in the first and eight more in the second.

Opposition star:  Josh Ockimey was 3-for-5 with two home runs (his fourth and fifth) and a walk, scoring three times and driving in five.

Stats:  Randy Cesar was 1-for-2 and is batting .328.  Telis raised his average to .325.  Wade raised his average to .302.  Duffey has an ERA of 1.04.

Red Wings pitchers struck out twelve, but they also walked twelve.

Pitching stars:  None.

Opposition star:  Ryan Grotjohn was 3-for-4 with two doubles, scoring three times and driving in three.

Stats:  Davis is batting .351.  Arraez is batting .314.  English is batting .306.

The Blue Wahoos out-hit the Generals 14-11.

Record:  The Blue Wahoos are 15-7, first in the Southern League South, four games ahead of Biloxi.

FORT MYERS 4, PALM BEACH 3 IN FORT MYERS

The Miracle scored all of their runs in the fourth inning.

Batting stars:  Akil Baddoo was 3-for-5.  Michael Helman was 2-for-4.  Ryan Jeffers was 2-for-5 with a double.

Pitching star:  Bailey Ober pitched six shutout innings, giving up five hits and a walk and striking out five.

Opposition star:  Luken Baker was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and a walk.

Stats:  Lewin Diaz was 0-for-2 and is batting .328.

Record:  The Miracle is 13-9, third in the Florida State League South, three games behind Palm Beach.

CEDAR RAPIDS 6, KANE COUNTY 2 IN KANE COUNTY

The Kernels scored two in the seventh and three in the eighth to overcome a 2-0 deficit.

Batting stars:  Joe Cronin was 3-for-4 with a two-run homer, a triple, and a double, scoring twice.  Gabe Snyder was 2-for-4 with a double.

Pitching stars:  Jordan Balazovic struck out seven in six innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits and one walk.  Jacob Blank struck out two in 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up two walks.  Joe Record struck out two in 1.1 perfect innings.

Opposition star:  Jackson Goddard struck out five in 4.2 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and two walks.

Stats:  Snyder is batting .378.  Cronin is batting .346.  Gabriel Maciel was 0-for-5 and is batting .324.  Trey Cabbage was 0-for-5 and is batting .313.  Balazovic has an ERA of 2.18.  Blank and Record each have an ERA of zero.
