Pitching star:  Devin Smeltzer pitched five shutout innings, giving up four hits and no walks and striking out three.

Opposition star:  Dominic Miroglio was 2-for-4 with a home run and a double.

Stats:  Blankenhorn is batting .333.  Jaylin Davis was 1-for-5 and is batting .333.  Luis Arraez was 0-for-2 with three walks and is batting .315.  Smeltzer has an ERA of 0.60.  Cody Stashak pitched an inning, giving up one run on one hit and has an ERA of 2.53.

A sacrifice fly in the fifth gave the Miracle a 2-1 lead.

Pitching stars:  Randy Dobnak struck out six in 5.1 innings, giving up one run on five hits and two walks.  Hector Lujan pitched 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and striking out one.  Alex Phillips struck out two in a perfect inning.

Opposition star:  Justin Toerner was 3-for-4.

Stats:  Lewin Diaz was 1-for-4 and is batting .323.  Dobnak has an ERA of 0.40.  Phillips has an ERA of zero.

Record:  The Miracle is 15-9, third in the Florida State League South, one game behind Bradenton and Palm Beach.

KANE COUNTY 3, CEDAR RAPIDS 2 IN KANE COUNTY (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)

Buddy Kennedy singled home the deciding run in the bottom of the seventh.

Chris Williams hit a three-run homer in the fifth and the Kernels held off a Cougar rally in the seventh.
