TOLEDO 7, ROCHESTER 1 IN TOLEDO

Jeimer Candelario hit a three-run homer in the first inning and the Mud Hens led all the way.  Drew Maggi was 2-for-5 with a double.  Nick Gordon was 2-for-5.  The Red Wings are 34-39, fifth, ten games back.

JACKSONVILLE 7, PENSACOLA 1 IN JACKSONVILLE

The Jumbo Shrimp scored two in the second and three in the third to go up 5-0.  Adalberto Mejia was the opener and struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up a walk and keeping his ERA at zero.  Hector Lujan pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up four hits and striking out two in his AA debut.  The Blue Wahoos are 2-2.  All five teams in their division are 2-2.

FORT MYERS 4, JUPITER 0 IN JUPITER

Ryan Costello hit a home run in the second to put the Miracle ahead to stay.  Ryan Jeffers was 2-for-4.  Ernie De La Trinidad was 2-for-4 and is batting .383.  Costello was 1-for-4 and the home run was his sixth.  Cole Sands struck out six in five no-hit innings.  He walked one and has an ERA of 2.20.  Johan Quezada struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.  Derek Molina struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up two hits and keeping his ERA at zero.  The Miracle is 3-4, tied for fourth, three games back.

CEDAR RAPIDS 8, PEORIA 6 IN PEORIA

Ben Rodriguez hit a two-run double to cap a four-run ninth that won it for the Kernels.  Rodriguez was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs.  Andrew Cabezas pitched 6.1 innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on six hits and striking out six.  Tanner Howell pitched a scoreless inning to keep his ERA at zero.  The Kernels are 2-2, tied for fourth, one game back.

ELIZABETHTON 12, KINGSPORT 6 IN KINGSPORT

A five-run fourth gave the Twins a 7-1 lead.  Max Smith was 3-for-4 with two walks, two runs, and two RBIs and is batting .308.  Alex Isola was 2-for-5 with two runs and is batting .444.  Anthony Prato was 2-for-5 with two walks and is batting .357.  Janigson Villalobos was 2-for-6.  Cody Laweryson struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up three hits and a walk in his professional debut.  Dylan Thomas struck out two in a perfect inning.  The Twins are 3-3, tied for third, one game back.
