  1. Did anyone else listen to the manager show on the radio tonight? Rocco was talking about why he didn't challenge the Sano play. Rocco should and probably does know the rule better than I do, but his explanation made no sense to me.

  2. Jake Cave and the Bad D is just horrific out there. He broke the wrong way on Skole's routine flyball and turns in into an adventure. Then, he charges maniacally at Sánchez's single and almost turns it into three bases. (Nice catch on Garcia's fly, though.)

  3. Wow. Cave didn’t dive when he shouldn’t have and did dive when he should. Loaves and fishes for everyone.

  4. How in the fuck is Cave a professional baseball player getting time in late August for a team in first place?

  5. Honestly - I think the Twins are just an inconsistent .500 baseball team that had a lot of things go right for a crazy good start.

How do you sweep 4 in Texas than come home and do this?

    1. How long have you been watching baseball? Just kidding. All snark aside, the Twins are a little more than an inconsistent .500 team. Most power rankings have them listed as a top 5 team in baseball. They are clearly not in the league of the Dodgers, Yankees (threw up in my mouth typing that) or Astros, but did anyone anticipate they would be a top 3 team this season during spring training? All the other teams in the next tier (Braves, A's, Rays, etc) have all had stretches of mediocre ball. Let's just hope the baseball gods smile upon us like they did in '87 and '91.

    1. During the National Anthem, a squirrel (the same one?) was running along the right field wall and then completely startled two boys when it jumped into the first row. Hilarious

  6. Jeesh, a guy takes his dog out for a little moonlight Frisbee and the Twins score four runs. But I'm not complaining.

  7. I don't like hearing about how the bullpen is overworked when Rocco is making pitching changes like this.

      1. Yes, but Romo threw three (excellent) pitches today, but he'll probably get used for an inning tomorrow and then Rocco will lament how he doesn't want to use him three days in a row. It's not the number of relievers that bothers me, it's the needless pitching changes. What's the worst-case scenario if Duffey pitches to Anderson? A homer and Romo can still come in with the bases empty and a 2-run lead to face Abreu.

    1. Based on intentionally walking Gonzalez, I imagine the white Sox are equally as surprised.
