Minor Details: Games of August 19

The Red Wings get no-hit.  Big innings carry several Twins teams to wins.

BUFFALO 3, ROCHESTER 0 IN ROCHESTER

T. J. Zeuch of the Bisons pitched a complete game no-hitter.  The only Red Wings baserunnerw came on a two-out walk in the third and a two-out hit batsman in the eighth.  Griffin Jax struck out seven in six innings, giving up one run on four hits and no walks.  Fernando Romero pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up a walk and striking out one.  The Red Wings are 63-63, in fourth place, four games back.

MISSISSIPPI 1, PENSACOLA 0 IN MISSISSIPPI (GAME 1)

The game's lone run came on a Riley Unroe homer in the sixth.  It was the only Braves hit, and the Blue Wahoos had just two.  Bryan Sammons pitched a six-inning complete game, giving up one run on one hit and two walks and striking out five.

PENSACOLA 4, MISSISSIPPI 2 IN MISSISSIPPI (GAME 2)

The Blue Wahoos scored two in the sixth to break a 2-2 tie.  Ryan Jeffers was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk and is batting .333.  Alex Kirilloff was 2-for-4 with a double.  Trevor Larnach was 1-for-2 with a two-run homer (his sixth) and a walk.  Cole Sands struck out six in four innings, giving up two runs on four hits and a walk.  Gabriel Moya struck out three in three shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk.  His ERA is 1.29.  The Blue Wahoos are 31-25, in third place, four games back.

CEDAR RAPIDS 6, QUAD CITIES 2 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

The Kernels scored four in the fifth to break a 2-2 tie.  Tyler Webb was 4-for-5 with two RBIs.  Trevor Casanova was 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs.  Spencer Steer was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk.  Josh Winder struck out nine in six innings, giving up two runs on five hits and no walks.  His ERA is 2.82.  Austin Schulfer struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.  Dylan Thomas pitched a perfect inning and struck out one.  His ERA is 2.89.  The Kernels are 32-24, in third place, four games back.

PRINCETON 8, ELIZABETHTON 2 IN PRINCETON

The Rays scored five in the second and never trailed.  Parker Phillips was 2-for-3 with a walk.  Osiris German pitched 3.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and striking out three.  His ERA is 2.94.  The Twins are 27-31, in fourth place, 2.5 games back.

GCL TWINS 1, GCL PIRATES 0 AT PIRATES (GAME 1)

The game's lone run scored on an error in the fourth inning.  Miguel Rodriguez struck out three in three shutout innings, giving up two hits and two walks.  His ERA is 0.90.  Junior Navas struck out five in three shutout innings, giving up one hit.  Evan Gillespie pitched a perfect inning and struck out one.

GCL TWINS 7, GCL PIRATES 2 AT TWINS (GAME 2)

The Twins scored six in the third inning and never trailed.  Luis Milla was 3-for-3 with a double.  Jake Hirabayashi was 2-for-3 with a home run (his second) and two RBIs.  Sergio Torribio was 2-for-3.  Niklas Rimmel struck out seven in five innings, giving up three hits and a walk.  His ERA is 2.15.  The Twins are 28-16, in second place, 2.5 games back.  They are in first by 1.5 games in the wild card standings.

DSL TWINS 5 DSL PHILLIES RED 2 AT PHILLIES RED

The Twins scored four in the ninth to break a 1-1 tie.  Jose Andujar was 2-for-3 with a walk.  Wilker Reyes struck out three in three innings, giving up one run on three hits and two walks.  Yordin Mateo pitched three shutout innings, giving up two hits and striking out two.  His ERA is 2.48.  Moises Causado struck out four in two shutout innings, giving up two walks.  The Twins are 22-38, in seventh place, eighteen games back.
