As the documentary I watched last week made pretty clear, Manfred’s priorities appear to have nothing to do with punishing cheaters and everything to do with hushing up witnesses & accomplices in order to smother scandal & insulate MLB from responsibility.
The wink-wink, nudge-nudge message this sends to young people is horrible. MLB is trying hard to limbo dance under the bar set by the NFL.
Speaking of mediocre presidents, I was born in the same city as Warren G. Harding.
Took the day to drive with Mrs. Runner along both sides of the Mississippi to the north of us, under the premise of eagle watching, even though it was overcast and drizzly. Did manage to see a bald eagle in a tree just across the Illinois side from Lousiana, MO. We had a nice belated Valentines lunch at a winery in Grafton, IL and then wandered home via the St Charles Co. flood plains. It was a nice escape for the day.

The peperoncino would approve. His class was recently working on spelling the days of the week and the months of the year, and he was extremely perturbed about the spelling of February. Although I think he'd opt for something more like FEBYOOARY.
