  1. Tangentially related, one of my favorite tweets

  2. I don't know if anyone else here ever listens to the Majority Report with Sam Seder, but his co-host Michael Brooks died suddenly yesterday at the age of 37. Pretty shocking.

  3. I've been watching I'll Be Gone In The Dark after Dr. Chop retires for the evenings, and have found it at times frustrating and compelling. Had some weird dreams about home invasion as a result. Then last night / early this morning we were woken up by extremely loud banging on some surface of our house. I fumbled around in the darkness for the home defense softball bat and made my way down the long hall (it's a single shotgun, no place to really hide / sneak up on someone). I checked our cameras and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. There was a car stopped in the middle of the street, but my neighbors often have folks / cousins / relatives swing by their house (and there is a minor bit of weed exchanging ... noting too serious so I thought). I reviewed the tape several times and then tried to lay back down. I was so amp'd up though. I got up to check the back yard, paced the front of the house, and then tried to get back to sleep only to be startled awake ten minutes later this time by NOPD knocking on my front door. Seems the banging was a drive by shooting that injured the driver of the car parked in front of out front door. Sweet jesus. I have the whole thing on tape, but missed it in the quick reviews I gave it. NOPD asked the for the footage, and I delivered it to them. In the video I can see one of my neighbors run wildly from the car (apparently uninjured) and back into their house. I'm pretty rattled by this.

  4. On the plus side I made another killer sandwich for lunch. Grilled green onion Cajun sausage, Kensington’s curry sauce, green leaf lettuce, a slice of pepper jack on hearty white. Delish. In the hall of good, but the sausage was a little to slippery, but the flavors were all there.

        1. If KG does get it, I hope he surrounds himself with good people. A guy that pushed for contracts for Trenton Hassel and Troy Hudson doesn't give me a lot of confidence.

    1. JonK at The Athletic says that Glen told him he is not selling to anyone who is moving the team

      1. July 16, 2006:

"It is not our intention to move or relocate the teams -- as
long, of course, as we are able to negotiate a successor venue to
the current basketball arena and arrangements to ensure the Sonics
and Storm can succeed," [New Sonics Owner Clay] Bennett said.

      2. Ah whatever, Glen, let em move if it means you don't own an NBA team.

Honestly, I wouldn't even care. The Wolves moving means I wouldn't have to waste any more time on the worst franchise in sports history.

          1. Haha. I just read that the Wilfs are a leading candidate. They wouldn't even have to move for me to stop paying attention to them if that happened.

            1. I'm first and foremost a fan of basketball. I was a fan of basketball before there was a Timberwolves franchise and I'll remain so afterwards, if it should come to that.

              1. Oh yeah, I'd be happy just following Ricky around. The only reason I pay more attention to the Wolves is some stupid, deeply ingrained sense of obligation to my original home state teams.

                  1. And I can probably uncouple from that team, too, if the idea of college athletics becomes too much for me to support.

              1. If given the choice between Wilfs and Pohlads, who do you choose? I'm thinking Pohlads, which is ironic because there was a time when I had hoped that Glen would buy the Twins to save them (there was a rumor!).
