  1. I read somewhere that more batted balls are being turned into outs this year than ever, or at least than in a long time. Given the number of hard-hit outs the Twins have had lately, I believe it. Defenses, and defensive positioning, appear to have gotten significantly better.

      1. Yep. Four base error, plus he was 0-for-4 and struck out all four times.

        Maybe we are related after all.

    1. My dad said they had a pretty heavy thunderstorm yesterday in the North (35 miles north of Grand Rapids), and a day or two earlier there was a small twister on their lake, just a few hundred yards north of them. Took out a bunch of trees.

      'tis the season. We are gearing up for summer wildfire season here. Luckily, our part of the state is very agricultural. Lots of nut trees, but they are all irrigated, so not much fire risk.

      1. Sounds like they've had some bad storms in my former homes of Wessington Springs and North Sioux City, too.

      1. Huh. I've never heard it before. But then, I've not been listening to that many games this year.

      1. Two runs in now 20 innings this year. Pretty good. Unfortunately, that means his ERA went up.
