4. Wow, the Bucks are boycotting game 5 of their Playoff series against Orlando.

   1. Pretty amazing. I wonder if there has ever been a similar action in professional team sports in this country before.

      1. Orlando not accepting the forfeit. Interesting. I'm pretty sure the Association is going to allow this game to be replayed at a later date, but what if the Bucks just say, we're done? Might end the whole thing.

         America, man. We are in quite a place right now.

         1. We are, and I have no idea where we're going from here. I can't imagine it is anywhere good in the near term.

            Now all of tonight's games have been canceled/postponed.

            1. I figured all the games would be canceled. No way the league plays with this happening. There would be a revolt. The question now is whether the playoffs even continue. I think the league should play, but I can understand if they don't.

               1. I'm in the same boat, think they can send a strong message while playing--I imagine the next time LeBron is interviewed will be worth watching--but it isn't my place to determine that.

               Video now out there of the Kenosha police telling these armed people, which included the killer, that they "appreciate" them being there and throwing them bottles of water. That is an absolute outrage. Under no circumstances should the police be encouraging armed civilians to engage protestors. Big, big lawsuits coming to the city of Kenosha.

                  I thought that video was a bit more ambiguous than that. I heard the cops telling people they were on private property and to go home. The "we appreciate" line could have been in line with that. Of course, the cops also did nothing to actually send those idiots home....

         That would seem to be consistent with Trump's saber rattling about sending in the National Guard and federal law enforcement to "restore order" in Wisconsin. But much harder to frame in light of the murders that kid committed and the giant ass spotlight the NBA and now parts of the MLB are shining on Kenosha.
