  1. I watched the Wolves again! KAT is good! Edwards is going to be good! Saunders is going to get KAT to force a trade!

    1. If Saunders isn't liked but KAT, they'd get rid of him. KAT might be the reason he's still coach.

      1. I've heard rumors Rosas asked Glen to let him replace him with an actual coach and Glen refused, so might not be all KAT. Either way, regardless of their friendship, if they keep losing KAT will want out, and rightfully so.

        1. I refuse to believe that Glen is meddling in the team and hurting their performance. (I can't even type that without a smirk.)

          1. It's absolutely fascinating to me how the Lynx and the Wolves are such differently managed teams even though, front office-wise, it's like 80 percent the same people. A highly touted free agent just signed with the Lynx and said one reason she signed was the team's culture and commitment to winning (and Coach Reeves). No one could say that about the Wolves with a straight face.

            1. The only thing I can think of is that Glen ignores them for certain reasons I couldn't put my finger on...

            1. Oof. At the time I was happy to not have to watch Wiggins anymore, but in hindsight that was a terrible trade. (Wish Thibs had traded Wiggins instead of LaVine.)

        1. Is it coincidental that Rubio has looked more like "old" Rubio the last couple games with DLo out? They seem like a particularly bad fit on the court together.

  2. Educators are now eligible in my county, so I got my first round of the COVID vaccine yesterday (Pfizer version) and my wife is scheduled for this afternoon. So far no side effects. My arm is a little sore to the touch, but less than my las flu shot.

And, my mom won the over-65 Minnesota lottery this week, and is scheduled for Saturday. I’m happier about hers than mine, given ages and general health.

    1. Its accelerating . Great news. Second dose should hit a bit more but its manageable for healthy peeps from anecdotal knowledge.

      1. Absolutely. Seeing vaccine availability ramp up like this feels like a light at the end of the tunnel. There’s still plenty more tunnel left, but it’s improvement none the less.

        1. I am ready for this to be all over, for sure. Been a tremendous strain on pretty much everyone. -- Me, playing Cap'n Obvious.

          1. The auto-calls and emails from schools are coming in about bringing kids back to school for multiple days per week.
The 15yr old has to wait until 3/1, but then will have four days in school.
12yr old was Distance Learning Academy. We requested to opt out and should hear 3/1 whether she'll be back to school 3/15.
We need this, so very much.

            1. We are staying with distance learning. Starting on Monday, she will be zooming into classes two days a week, which is the same instruction she would get if she was going to school. Three days a week no instruction, just like all of her classmates, so the difference between the hybrid model and the distance learning is minimal. The complete lack of motivation is understandable, but I'd be lying if I said that it hasn't gotten on my nerves in a big way. I have tried just about every approach imaginable to keep her going. Nothing has worked really well.

    2. My Parents are in FLA and my dad is getting his second shot later this week through the VA. My mom can't get a shot scheduled due to the crazy distribution they have there. If she was in MN, she'd have her first shot done as she is getting emails from her Provider about setting up an appointment. I jokingly said she should fly up and get the shot and then fly back down.

    3. my ma was in the MN lottery as well, but just happened to be in line to pick up medication at the Rx when a cancellation came in. I'd rather be lucky than good.

    1. I know Nick always complains about this song, but it is one of my all-time favorites. The Will Birch autobiography on Nick is a fascinating read by the way.

    2. And not many radio stations are going to play a song with the chorus "She was a winner that became a doggie's dinner."

  3. Padres back up the money truck for Tatis Jr.

    1. Man, I’d love to still be able to root for San Diego. Preller has been guilty of some eyeroll- and cringe-worthy moments: Hosmer for 8/$144m, Grandal for Kemp, Trea Turner PTBNL, two suspensions for unethical conduct (one came in Texas). But, it’s Machado who totally undercuts my ability to wish the Friars any success.
