      1. A lot of Twins fans were upset when he was traded, but it looks like they traded him at just the right time. And they got Devin Smeltzer for him, who could still turn out to be a good pitcher.

        1. Counting only his positive rWAR, Dozier accumulated another 0.9 rWAR after his Twins career. Smeltzer did 0.8 rWAR in 2019.

          1. Jose De Leon doesn't seem to have done much yet either. He was rumored to have been offered to the Twins by the Dodgers, but the Dodgers traded him to Tampa Bay for Forsythe instead, who they later traded to the Twins along with Smeltzer for Dozier.

            1. De Leon has had a lot of injuries and has pitched just 12.2 big league innings since the Dodgers traded him. The Rays sent him along to Cincinnati for cash and a player to be named after the 2019 season. That's not exactly a ringing endorsement.

    1. that is very, very cool.

And amazing that there still are, essentially no MLB players born in Africa, the Middle East, India, China, Indonesia, SE Asia, most of Europe, or the bigger South American countries. The game has a LOT of room to grow still. One would wish that MLB owners would be much less parochial and cultivate a stronger worldwide marketing approach, a la the Premier League.

      1. I do like that one.

But I went with the 4 Twins-themed ones, plus F Salt Fitzgerald, Mary Tyler More Snow, Plowing in the Wind, and Raspberry Brrr-et.

I am disappointed that my submission of "Drew Pearson" (because he Pushed Off) didn't make the list.

          1. Pretty solid list. I didn't go for as many Twin references as I might have thought. I liked the Minnesota-particular plays on words. And "Darth Blader."
