Nick Gordon did well, but came out early.  A rough day for Austin Schulfer.  Jair Camargo and Blayne Enlow carry the Kernels.  Edouard Julien and Regi Grace lead the Mighty Mussels.

INDIANAPOLIS 7, ST. PAUL 3 IN ST. PAUL

The Indians scored four in the second and three in the third to build a 7-1 lead.

Batting stars:  Nick Gordon was 2-for-2.  Tomas Telis was 2-for-3 with a walk.  Keon Broxton was 2-for-4 with a double.

Pitching stars:  Ian Hamilton pitched two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.  Danny Coulombe struck out five in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.

Opposition stars:  Anthony Alford was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs, and three RBIs.  Hunter Owen was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.  Christian Bethancourt was 2-for-4.

Starter:  Griffin Jax struck out five in five innings, but allowed seven runs on nine hits and a walk.

Stats:  Gordon is batting .400.  Coulombe has an ERA of 2.35.

Daniel Ozoria was 0-for-1 and is batting zero.  Daniel Descalso was 0-for-4 and is batting .083.  Yeltsin Encarnacion was 1-for-3 and is batting .167.  J. T. Riddle was 1-for-4 and is batting .188.  Brent Rooker was 0-for-4 and is batting .189.  Joe Kerrigan was 0-for-3 and is batting .192.  Jax has an ERA of 5.40.

Note:  Nick Gordon left the game in after three innings.  I don't know why.

The Wind Surge got two in the first, but the Drillers scored eight in the third to take control.

Pitching star:  Hector Lujan pitched a perfect inning.

Opposition stars:  Ryan Noda was 2-for-4 with two home runs (his third and fourth), a walk, three runs, and four RBIs.  Carlos Rincon was 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs.  Hunter Feduccia was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

Starter:  Austin Schulfer pitched 2.2 innings, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on seven hits and two walks and striking out two.

Stats:  Jose Miranda was 1-for-4 and is batting .360.  Aaron Whitefield was 1-for-5 and is batting .327.  Mooney is batting .313.  Lujan has an ERA of zero.

Sherman Johnson was 0-for-4 and is batting .077.  Gilberto Celestino was 0-for-4 and is batting .167.  Schulfer has an ERA of 11.00.  Dakota Chalmers allowed two runs in 2.1 innings and has an ERA of 12.46.  Calvin Faucher allowed two runs in two innings and has an ERA of 14.54.

The Kernels scored single runs in the second, fourth, fifth, and sixth.

Batting stars:  Jair Camargo was 3-for-4 with two home runs.  Spencer Steer was 2-for-4 with a double.  Gabe Snyder was 2-for-4.  Matt Wallner was 1-for-4 with a home run, his third.  Michael Helman was 1-for-3 with a  home run, his second.

Pitching stars:  Blayne Enlow struck out ten in 5.2 innings, giving up one run on three hits and three walks.  Owen Griffith pitched a scoreless inning, giving up a walk and striking out two.

Opposition stars:  Bubba Hollins was 1-for-2 with two walks.  Antonio Velez struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up two hits.

Stats:  Steer is batting .375.  Snyder is batting .317.  Camargo is batting .310.  Enlow has an ERA of 1.84.  Jordan Gore gave up one run in 2.1 innings and has an ERA of 2.16.

Wander Javier was 0-for-4 and is batting .156.  Helman is batting .179.  Gabriel Maciel was 0-for-3 and is batting .189.  Griffith has an ERA of 6.75.

The Mighty Mussels scored three in the fifth to take a 4-0 lead.

Pitching stars:  Regi Grace struck out six in five shutout innings, giving up one hit and three walks.  Ryan Shreve pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and two walks and striking out two.  Osiris German struck out two in a perfect inning.

Opposition stars:  Chad Bell was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk.  Carlos Narvaez was 1-for-1 with three walks.  Sean Boyle pitched 3.2 innings, giving up an unearned run on four hits and a walk and striking out three.
